Lovely pub , didnt have food as they were full up with bookings but smelt lovely .Drinks are kept lovely and taste fantastic .Will be back .Update: we came back and had food , service was very accommodating as they were booked up ( again ) but managed to squeeze our lot on a table . I believe they only had a couple of chefs in the kitchen but the majority of our food was delicious, the only disapointment was the steaks were poor im afraid .I had a sirloin ( med/rare) which was rare when it turned up at the table . I believe thats made it chewy but i didnt complain at the time and im sure the staff would have sorted it asap had i pointed it out but i didnt want to burden the chefs any more . Our server was lovely ( didnt get her name im afraid) and overall a good experience.Highly recomend The woodcock and if you have a problem with anything dont hesitate to call on the staff to help you ( not like me )Cheers .

Came here with my family as a friend had given me a food voucher. Staff at the bar didn't sound too convincing when they agreed to take the voucher but processed it fine.Both staff seemed a little preoccupied & there was no personal greeting or touch to the visit, as others have written, this is just a generic pub with grub.Food was good, hot and arrived quickly. They don't provide sachets of condiments, rather you're provided with half empty bottles which have been used countless times before, by who knows, so not very hygienic. Also tonnes of flies swarmed us when eating! Got tired of waving them away.For some reason their bitter tasted awful so I ordered coke afterwards.I probably won't come back, there's just no reason to make the effort to come here. Shame.

We have been here many times before but yesterday was a real disappointment. All the meat was burnt and over cooked. They were short staffed and looked rushed off their feet. A couple of older ladies walked out as they were told it was an hr and half wait for food. Gone down a lot in my opinion has this pub

There was a good selection on the menu and it seemed good value for money. It was a Monday tea time but there was no gammon left, so no mixed grill, and no lasagne.We were waiting a good while for our food. We ordered on the app but eventually we were told they didn't have our order, that it mustn't have gone through. We knew it had though because we'd received our drinks. They went to look again for our ticket and once they found it they said they would get our food out ASAP. It came out a few minutes later, it wasn't hot. 2 of the 3 staff we encountered weren't apologetic or particularly friendly and one of them was quite rude.We won't be going back.

Just been for lunch had a 40 minute wait, chicken was like a bouncy ball, peas were dehydrated, paid an extra 75p for mushy peas which was a teaspoon portion. 1 of the party had chicken skewers with approximately 3 chunks of dry chicken didn’t look like the menu picture.100% would not recommend for food!

Had to wait 25 minutes before our meal came out which was ok for us as we weren’t in any rush. I had the chicken tikka masala which had just the right amount of spice for my liking

Enjoyed the food and the service, a good sized portion on the ultimate platter. I was definitely in the mood for wings and ribs... Would have loved to pour some hot sauce on top though! I recommend the woodcock for a casual catch up!

It's a nice little pub and the staff are nice, I'm only putting one less star because the food wasn't too great. The atmosphere and the drinks were nice though. I'm not sure if i will return if I do it won't be for the food unfortunately.

Welcoming staff, quick service with tasty food and a great selection of beers and wines,can be difficult to park as its not the biggest carpark.
