Posting this again as it didn’t seem to upload from my other account.This was the best fry up I have had in a long while. Great service, great clean little place, staff were spot on and the food was excellent. Everything was cooked perfect, good quality eggs, and just all round top fry up. My only regret was not adding some fried bread. It was that good I almost went back for the same again at lunch! If you are in Southend, Lena’s is a must for breakfast!

We came across this fantastic cafe yesterday. I had small cod and chips, hubby burger and chips. Absolutely delicious and piping hot. Having a small portion of cod was perfect, especially when I saw the size of the normal portion. Food piping hot and service excellent. We would definitely recommend.

Nice and simple. Classic fish and chips at its best. Good quality fish in a top class crunchy batter all at just right proportion. Place rather filled with tourists but you can definitely tell it has its spirit. If you’re looking for a good classic fish and chips this is definitely a go to place.

Really nice food. Lovely chips freshly made and piping hot. Fish really good. Ordered 2 x small cod and chips but the fish was not small! Really filling and great tasting. The owner was friendly and welcoming. Overall a great experience and it was nice to sit there after walking to the end of the pier and back, eat good food and watch the various characters go by.

Don't understand the good reviews. These are not authentic fish and chips, it's the sort that would be served in a school canteen, not what you'd get from a traditional seaside fish and chip shop.The fish didn't have proper batter on it, the chips weren't the proper type cooked from fresh.

We Had a lovely meal here Good Friday whilst visiting Southend on sea for the day. The fish batter was lovely and crispy and we all enjoyed our meals, portions were plentiful. The restaurant isn't very big but has clean modern decor and the customer service from the staff was lovely. So much choice of where to eat along the strip but glad we choose here! Would definitely come here again when we next visit Southend. :-)

Delicious! We walked 40 minutes to come here based on the reviews and was not disappointed! We had regular cod & chips which was cooked to order - the size of fish was ample, the batter was 99% perfectly cooked, and the taste was great.

Nice little cafe, located right opposite Adventure Island. Popped in here for a bit of lunch with the little ones on a rainy Sunday afternoon and were pleasantly surprised. Restaurant is small but nicely decorated and clean. Menu is varied and the prices are reasonable. There is a good selection of dishes on the children’s menu too, which is nice to see. My partner and children went for the fish and chips which was excellent. The batter was light and crisp and the fish tasted very fresh indeed. I had the chicken salad which was nicely portioned and delicious. The chicken tasted like it had been lightly fried and the salad was crispy. Side note, partner was also very impressed with her latte. Will certain be coming back here and would happily recommend to others
