Unfortunately two of the most popular dishes had run out when we arrived which was a bit disappointing, but the burgers we ordered were delicious (if a bit of a meagre portion of chips for £15).Overall though - great food, friendly service and a really nice place to sit outside. Lovely pub - recommended!

Lively pub on a Friday night with live music from 8. The place was busy but we found seats in a quieter room to the left behind the bar. Comfortable with a small outside space leading to the river path.

4 of us had lunch in here, 1 jacket potatoes, 1 fish pie, 1 cottage pie and 1 ham egg and chips, all served in a timely manor. Staff were polite and friendly. Best dinner for us was the ham egg and chips.

Very tasty food in a relaxed environment, would recommend for sure and will be returning. I had the chicken and veg soup, delicious and the burger also very nice.

As we were in Sandwich I ordered the sandwich special.Very disappointed.Bread was so tough that it was almost impossible to cut with the provided knives and hence impossible to eat.When I reported this to the Waitress she expressed apologies but the management made no effort to correct or compensate for the situation.We finished our drinks and left.The late Earl of Sandwich was probably turning in his grave!

Really great roast lunch, amazing quality for a really reasonable price. Recommend the cauliflower cheese, great sharing portion for 2. Also do Heineken 0% on draught which was perfect as a designated driver. The owner and staff have obviously put a lot of care into the place and it really shows. Well done team Crispin!

It was raining and gloomy outside, so we made a bolt for this place with our dog. Couldn't have picked better, friendly staff and patrons, warm next to an open fire. Perfect stop off when spending a day in Sandwich, which is a beautiful Kentish town.

Good location and service. Starters were a good sized portion. My wife’s main course of liver and bacon was tasty but unfortunately my ribeye steak was more a steak frites and over cooked which was disappointing for the price. I don’t normally complain and was pleased the manager didn’t go defensive but very empathetic and offered free desserts but we declined which he then reduced the bill.
