Stoney Cove
I saw quite a few reviews of this place, mentioning unfriendly staff. From my experience the staff there were both kind and accommodating, albeit on a relatively quiet Friday. Changing facilities were heated and pretty clean, and the shop was fantastic. There wasn't many places to kit up, and I imagine it'd get very busy there on weekend. All in all, a good site for some winter training dives.

I really like it here. We went on a very cold December Saturday. There were a lot of divers here but that was alright, there was plenty of room in the lake and lots to see underwater. Reasonable charges (£13 a visit for divers with membership, £20 without) and non divers free. Decent hot changing room and showers (20pence). Good pub with ok food at reasonable prices . Enormous dive shop.

Great dive location. Variety of underwater ‘artifacts’ at varying depths for interest when diving.Staff are super helpful in the shop, on the gate and at the cylinder refilling area.Facilities are pretty decent- separate changing area for ladies and men and two toilets. Toilet floors do get very wet in the day which can’t be helped due to people who’ve dived or swam going in but otherwise clean and easy to use.Nemos is great for a brew, post dive pint or snacks too.

We absolutely love Stoney Cove, we come here every Wednesday for a drink in Nemos bar, we sit and look over the water and stunning surroundings, watching the divers and Swimmers. Staff at Nemos bar are extremely friendly and make you feel very welcome. They also hold a lot of family events. Would definitely recommend

My all time favourite open water swimming venue.Showers and toilets on site, plenty of parking and the pub has a good variety of food and drink available at reasonable prices. Stunning location to swim at.

Good facilities and lots of hidden gems underwater for all divers. Excellent shop on site and restaurant and pub. Food good.
