I wish I had read these reviews before I ordered. Like many others here, my item arrived fine but it quickly became apparent that it was defective. I have been chasing this company since March to organise a refund or replacement. Either no one replies, they don't answer their phone, or they tell you they are 'looking into it'. They told me in March that someone would be in touch within 30 days to replace the item. I have still heard nothing and have chased multiple times. I have spoken with Trading standards and, after receiving no response to my formal letter, I am left with no choice but to initiate proceedings with the Small Claims Court. Avoid this company at all costs.

I bought this a French bed for my mother. Island delivered it ahead of schedule and assembled it free of charge. They rang in advance and came on time too. Thanks for a great job guys - my mum loves the bed!

Why did I not read these reviews before placing the order?Order placed date: Sep 2022Order Placed from: Dublinwas told 6-10 weeks, however, the order took around 16 weeks. The driver left an item outside of our home with whole wood pallet which we have to dispose of ourselves.the lady on the phone was good however company is not a great company to deal with. They ignore emails and send defective products.I gave them multiple opportunities to come back to me, however, they don't don't give a hoot once money is taken.

We ordered a bed and are still waiting for its delivery. Worst order and delivery service I ever came across – horrific customer service.It all started with placing the order over phone and receiving a call after as they had charged the wrong price. Then followed by a massive delay of months being behind promised latest delivery date (still waiting).Beside the fact that we actually need the bed and are nearly thinking the whole company is a scam by charging us in full but still letting us wait, the worst is possibly the lack of communication. After we called (no pro-active communication from their side) and being promised to get an update emailed even this wasn’t fulfilled. So we’re now left to check in every two weeks and then being told delivery will be ”soon“. Can only recommend to stay away from this company!

So rude, no respect for their customers and the money they invest in their business. My partner and I placed an order and was told only after departing with over a grand that delivery would take 8-10 weeks. When we emailed for updated delivery date they said it had been extended to estimate 14 weeks. Over 3 months! They did not inform us of this on their own accord, we had to chase. No mention of this when you purchase from them online. They don't actually have the product they are selling in stock or the supplies to make it. Completely and deliberately miss-leading on the website. I imagine to facilitate their company cash flow. Take the money and deal with complaints later, it's already in the bank so. When I called to discuss this and why their company misleads their customer on their website I was put through to a very rude women in dispatch called Maria, who spoke over me, consistently and relayed we have been on the phone for 5 minutes now" so clearly didn't have the time for me and relayed a lot of exasperation that she was even on the call. No understanding of my concern that we had paid over a grand for a bed with no understanding of when it would be dispatched. Didn't feel this was inappropriate or understand the concern or frustration. Maria showed no respect for customers that have chosen to purchase and support the business she works at and in turn her job and was an unfortunate reflection of this company key values. I purchased the butchers block (110cm cream), delivery was quick and was communication good.If you are considering purchasing a butchers block then please reconsider. The butchers block is constructed of shockingly poor quality materials. Island furniture advertised this as solid hardwood but in reality it is nothing more than a couple of pieces of cheap chipboard type of material stuck together. The glue is starting to show and the wood chip material is starting to bow. Considering this is only a month old, I suspect the butchers block will not last more than 6 months before it needs to be taken to the tip.The item is heavily lacquered to mask the poor quality, I even have drip marks of lacquer/varnish on the front on the block surface. The butchers block is lightweight, I can pick it up on my own. The lacquer is coming off, each time i place an object on the surface the varnish chips away.The condition/quality of the butcher block is a huge disappointment. However, I am most disappointed with Island Furnitures lack of response. I have sent a number of emails to island furniture to complain about the unsatisfactory quality. Unfortunately I so not get a response, I am ignored.I have asked to return the butchers block in return for a full refund but I do not get a response.As stated above, think again because their website and description of the butchers block is not accurate and is misleading, furthermore the item is certainly not fit for purpose or of satisfactory quality.

I ordered a partner desk on the 27th November 2022. After a lot of contact, false promises regarding delivery dates and problems with the courier it eventually arrived on the 27th March 2023, a mere 4 months after I'd ordered it and Island had taken payment.Originally the desk seemed to be reasonably good quality, however, after less than 6 months cracks started appearing at 3 of the 4 corners. I contacted Island on the 27th October 2023 to ask them what they were going to do under the 12 month warranty in their terms and conditions. The reply I received 4 weeks later stated that this could be due to the item been in a warm room with excess heat. It is not a manufacturing fault. We can send touch paint to tone out the area."Our house is centrally heated

I had to literally beg and cry to get my refund back after paying in full and waiting over a 8 months for a couch only to get a call that they needed more than $800 dollars to ship but the shipping was clearly already included in my payment which I reminded them to which they responded fine get a refund. From that moment on I had the phone the Aussie who answers the phone almost daily for five months to beg them for my refund via PayPal to which they finally gave in because I was a nuisance. It was made clear to me on the final phone call that I was gonna be called a problem to which I responded no I’m just desperate and broke and I don’t have a couch. She then forced the hand of the owner to make the refund who could’ve done it in 10 minutes
