Merlin and Griffin love going to see Vicki for their regular grooming sessions. Vicki is an amazing groomer who always makes the boys look and smell amazing! We get so many compliments and it’s all thanks to Vicki, our local top notch groomer who i would highly recommend.

Once again, I've just had lovely feedback from another client who I've referred to Pet Checkers. Vicki and Ben and their team are outstanding in the care they give to the animals they look after.They are professional, caring and highly skilled with animals, catering for all needs and looking after them as if they were part of their own family.They're particularly skilled with anxious animals, giving them the time they need to feel at ease.I trust very few people with my own dogs - and Ben and Vicki are two of those trusted few.Highly recommended.

Unreliable & untrustworthy - I had been with Pet Checkers for 2 years & had a regular dog sitter who was fantastic. Unfortunately she recently left the company. She left the business 1.5 months prior to me taking a holiday to Japan.This trip was booked more than 6 months ago with Pet Checkers. I had been given assurances these dates would be covered as Vicki had let me down in November 2 weeks prior to going to New York and I had the stress of finding a replacement at the last minute.I was given assurances that all the proper introductions would be made by a new sitter. I have 2 dogs, one of whom can be anxious and is reactive to other dogs and children. I was nervous as the sitter allocated had NO PREVIOUS dog walking or sitting experience and had only come along for a 2 day pet sit while I had been away on business. The new sitter was new to my area and not familiar with any of the local surroundings. This time I was going to be traveling for 2.5 weeks, to a country I couldn't just simply return to within a couple of hours.I had put forward a number of options to Vicki for walks the new sitter could take the dogs on that were quite and out of the way, including the hiring of enclosed secure paddocks for the dogs to run around, all the cost covered by me, this was made clear to Pet Checkers at the outset. I was informed they don't transport dogs as a rule - even though they advertise as a Pet Taxi Service.I didn't argue this with Vicki - I understand it can be extra time out of someone's day to drive a little further or get stuck in traffic. I requested that the new sitter come and do one final visit before I left for Japan and I was made to feel that this was a hassle for Pet Checkers - I was reminded that as an existing customer I only pay £40 for services whereas new customers pay £100 for services, these were prices Vicki had chosen to honour, not requested by me. It became clear to me that Vicki was more interested in how much money she was making from me, than the safety of my dogs and the people around them. There was also the further threat from pet checkers to increase the honoured day rate.I was also informed by Vicki that my previous pet sitter had done all these extra things for mine and other customers dogs (e.g. transporting them to walks) without Vicki and Pet Checker's knowledge - this was a scary thought that Pet Checker's were UNAWARE of what their staff get up to on house sits - would this be a breach of insurance? Health and Safety? Not to mention that it was completely unprofessional from an employers perspective disclosing issues about their previous employees and a breach of GDPR - Vicki was also aware that I had become friends with her previous employee over the years she had looked after my dogs. If Vicki was unaware of what 1 person was getting up to - she was most likely unaware of what her other employees are getting up to. I wasn't willing to leave someone new to look after my dogs when the owner of the company had just admitted she didn't know what her staff got up to. So I looked into this claim.On being challenged and caught out for lying, rather admit a mistake was made, Vicki became vindictive and cancelled the pet sit that was booked knowing that it was going to be an almost impossible task to find a replacement sitter at short notice and if one couldn't be found I would have to cancel my trip, costing not just me, but my family thousands. No attempts were made by Vicki to contact me after she cancelled the pet sit, I made attempts to contact Ben the other owner and this was completely ignored too. It was only after I had sent Vicki a text to say she was in breach of contract by still having hold of my house keys did I receive any further contact from Pet Checkers, I don't believe Vicki had any further intention of making contact, and I wasn't willing to bear the cost of having to change locks and have new keys cut.I informed Pet Checkers that I would be letting my friends and colleagues know about the absolutely disgraceful and shocking service I had received.

Excellent! I was very impressed by how professional and organised pet checkers were, we were even shown police check certificates for both Vicky and Ben to assure us that our dog phoebe would be in safe hands. Pet checkers were polite and friendly and most importantly, genuinely love animals. Vicky was able to come to our house even on very short notice to meet phoebe so that she could come for a visit the following evening while i was at work. Vicky left feedback of how the visit went as well as sending me a picture of Phoebe at work which was lovely especially as she looked so happy. I feel much happier now knowing that pet checkers are there for my loved one when i need them and that i don't have to worry about her because i know she's in good hands. Thanks pet checkers :D

Vicki cares for our dog like he is her own. She is warm, welcoming, friendly, flexible with bookings and communicates really well. Best groomer our 13 year old pup has ever had.

Vicki did a great job of hand stripping my 15 month old Border terrier - Bo. She was extremely professional and knowledgeable and put me completely at ease. Bo looked amazing after and she took great care of him. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

I could not fault Pet Checkers on their 5* pet sitting service. I’ve now used them three times and each time I had complete confidence in them and how relaxed they made me feel. Having someone come into your home can be unnerving but Vicki and Ben came to visit and we went through everything. They picked up on my anxiety about leaving my bunny without me even saying anything. They met Thor (my bunny) and I felt instantly relaxed because of how natural they both were with him, Thor was totally comfortable with them both and probably liked Ben more than he does me.When I left for my holiday, they came the morning I was at the airport to feed Thor and let him run around, when they went to wash his bowl my hot water wouldn’t turn off. I was just about to board my plane and couldn’t do anything to help. I handed Vicki my Dad’s number and she told me not to worry, to get on my plane and they would sort it. She even turned my hot water down so it didn’t cost loads (especially with the energy prices going up). I landed to find that my Dad had been to fix my tap after liaising with Vicki who had already stayed at my house an extra hour than she should have done.I got picture updates and funny things Thor was doing and messages about how much they loved him! Not once did I feel anxious or stressed about Thor because of how amazing Vicki and Ben are and how much Thor loved them and felt comfortable enough to climb all over them and let them pet him.I genuinely can’t thank them enough and will never go back to taking him elsewhere (even though his home away from home was lovely), Thor was obviously extremely happy and chilled in his own home and Vicki and Ben just made the magic happen around him.They even made sure his litter was changed and he was super tidy when I came home because it was 31 degrees when I landed.I could go on and on about how much I love Pet Checkers but I would 5 million percentage recommend them when you need someone to look after your baby, because Vicki and Ben are complete naturals. I can’t thank them enough!

Absolutely brilliant. We're happy, our dog's happy. Vicki really knows her stuff. Will be booking him in regularly.

Vicki and Ben have provided a great service throughout the 5 years they have been looking after our border terrier Bentley. Helpful, friendly and never let us down. Don't know what we would have done without them! When we move back to Devon Bentley will miss them. Thank you!
