Chef at Home by James Howe

Where do I start! As part of the celebrations marking my 80th Birthday we gave a Lunch Party for nine at home. Even before the event we had been vastly impressed by the way in which James had responded via his website to the kind of menu we had in mind. The result was two absolutely perfectly cooked courses followed by a sensational cheese board, probably the best we have ever seen. (The final pudding course took the form of a wonderful mousse/cake that had been commissioned separately.) We cannot speak too highly of the way in which James, and Callum, undertook the entire operation, from arriving on time, taking over the kitchen with the least possible fuss and at the end leaving it immaculately. They were never obtrusive but came into the dining room to explain the various dishes, and did so with great charm. They didn’t even turn a hair when we said that we would like to use an 1840s dinner service, a family heirloom!We would like to thank James for a remarkable and outstanding experience, and would recommend him without hesitation.

We had an important family celebration on the 25th of November at Dower House, Stow Bardolph, a 70th Birthday, a 94yrs, a 1 year and 80years myself. The dinner was prepared by Chef at Home by James Howe.The two Chefs arrived very puntually. They travelled a long way from Cardiff. They worked very hard.They managed in the kitchen area very well.The 3-course meal was splendid. I had medium rare filet steak with lovely potatoes and different nicely cooked and original vegetables with it.They served very well and behaved like gentlemen. They were very kind with the guests and collected the plates carrying them to the kitchen for the washing up.I would have them at any party again without any doubt.Many thanksMrs MR

Incredible, can't recommend enough! Had a dinner party for 12 and we all loved every course. Great menu choices and the chef was very accomidating to our dietary requirements (vegetarian/vegan) - everything went so smoothly. Thank you.

James created a very special surprise meal for my friends special birthday. The menu choices were fantastic and the fact that the meal was prepared in a kitchen that he’d never seen before left us in awe. The food was unbelievable and James & ? Callum were lovely and friendly throughout. The kitchen was left spotless and I would highly recommend to anyone wanting a special evening.

A thoroughly five star service from Chef at Home - and I couldn't praise them enough. From the initial engagement and support through menu development, to welcoming James to the property to undertake the cooking.The menu (and food) were highly commended by all of my guests; and the advantage of having everything catered for during a celebration event cannot be recommended highly enough.I would definitely use their services again.Thanks to Rebecca (for the pre-arrangements) and to James (and Callum) for the excellent service on the night.

From start to finish the whole experience was seamless with James and Callum preparing the most stunning meal for our 30th wedding Anniversary.Both very professional and we were all very impressed.Thank you for making our day extra special.
