Mike sold me my first fiddle 28 years ago and I would never go anywhere else to buy a fiddle or for repairs. I send all my pupils to the shop too. First class service

Visited Vintage Strings for a new set of strings for my viola, but ended up buying a whole lot more. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff, who couldn't do enough for me and my wife, who also purchased various accessories for her violin. Highly recommended. I would award more than five stars if I could.

Had a wonderful experience when I visited the shop, the owner was so friendly and welcoming. I had brought in a tagelharpa which the owner hadn't seen before but he still tried his best to help me to figure out the basics of how it worked and was super generous by giving me one of their old bows and resin. The dog was also very cute and likes getting pets! Many thanks to Vintage Strings, you really helped me out when I didn't even know where to start and would defo recommend this place to anyone that needs some advice or help with their stringed instruments!

Lovely little music shop with a personal service second to none. A wide range of instruments for all budgets. Would rather spend my money in there than to a faceless online store.

Had an issue with the fingerboard on my cello for years. They took it in, worked on it for 3 days and got it back to me in great nick for an incredibly reasonable price. Staff were all very lovely as well. Speaking from experience, they are the best value for money in Scotland.

This is a superb wee shop with great service. I handed in my old violin after breaking the scroll off. I thought it was worth saving but wasn't sure if it could be. I picked up my violin two weeks later and I couldn't believe what an amazing job the chap had done. The repair was excellent value and I'm delighted with my violin-it sounds lovely.

Always helpful, always happy to explain and discuss musical instruments or carry out small repairs. Have bought everything from a piano to a ukulele here over the years. They stock good quality, carefully chosen acoustic instruments
