This firm has been an absolute dream to deal with, in what has been a total nightmare of a situation with my car.My BMW 435d Xdrive broke down just before Christmas and dealing with BMW UK and their dealership BMW Sandal - Huddersfield has been poor to say the least.Having been told the engine has suffered catastrophic damage, I ended up removing the car from the dealership, merely because their communication was so abysmal.I investigated various engine rebuilders offering to do it cheaper, free pick up etc, however, after some digging it was clear they weren't as good as they had promised. Then I came across Steve's firm. Their reviews were awesome and it's hard to hide poor work and service in this day and age, especially with Google. After a long discussion with Steve. I made the decision to proceed. He immediately arranged for a third party to contact me to arrange collection of the vehicle and there quickly assessed the damage. The car had in fact had a previous engine rebuild before my purchase and the work was poorly carried out .Unfortunately, the engine damage was serious enough that the block was in fact scrap, the turbos were in a poor state and the work was significantly worse than everyone had hoped. However, this was all communicated clearly and via video to explain the issues.The car has come back and feels a million times better than the day I picked her up.Steve's communication and knowledge is second to none. The team is amazing. They aren't the cheapest, as Steve admits this, but the service, communication and work are awesome.I would 100% recommend Prestige German Engines to anyone thinking of using them.

We were recommended to Steve at Prestige German Engines as we were struggling to figure out what to do after our X1’s timing chain snapped.Once we made contact with Steve he was very prompt to get back to us and talk us through the process.He put us in touch with Dean who will collect your vehicle and he’s great!Once Steve and Louis received our X1 they had the engine out and sent us a very detailed quote for the repair this was backed up with pics on what’s app.This type of service is really worth its weight in gold especially if your vehicles gone far away to people you don’t know.It really did put us at ease and we were really confident we had found the best place to have our vehicle fixed.The turn around was super quick and you can really tell they love what they do!Thanks Steve, Louis and the young lad, we didn’t catch his name. Where do I start, my vehicle suffered a rod bearing failure resulting is a fried engine. I got messed around by the first garage who had my car for 6 months, until I came cross Prestige German Engines, I was caution at first due to my experience with the previous garage but after 1 phone call with Steve I’d already received more information and help / support than the previous 6 months. Dean Collected my car Two days after speaking with Steve, within a week of Prestige having my car my engine was stripped, diagnosed & warranty approved. (Steve sent plenty of photo’s of the process, this was actually pretty cool to be able to visually see the process) the whole process from collection my car to taking delivery of my repaired vehicle was 3 weeks to the day. If you find yourself in the unfortunate situation of an engine failure, don’t stress or hesitate to call Prestige, and Steve will do the rest. 5 stars isn’t enough.

Steve was highly recommended to me as I need a full engine rebuild for my X5 40e. He not only had my car ready for me before I expected it to be done but kept me fully informed throughout. I am so grateful for everything Steve has done, the car is driving like a dream. He kept in touch after the car was collected, explaining the aftercare. I would definitely recommend anyone needed a rebuild doing to get in touch with Steve and his team. Great service from start to finish.

I found Prestige German Cars online after being being quoted over £12k by BMW to replace my 520d engine. I found Steve to be immediately reassuring and he gave me a fixed price. He sent me a progress update via WhatsApp on my car. He promptly informed me when the car was ready to be collected. Louis picked me up and we had a lovely chat enroute to their workshop. My car is driving like new. I would strongly recommend Steve and Louis. I have found them very honest, professional, friendly and they delivered a rebuilt engine to price. To add it was great to get a message from Steve after a few day of collecting my vehicle to check how the car was driving. Thank you guys for everything.

BMW Series 1 engine rebuild - Brilliant Service, quick turnaround and would highly recommend! Very friendly and kept us very informed of progress! Had a slight issue which was nothing to do with engine but they took car back repaired it free of charge! Bonus! 1000 mile service now complete and a happy daughter!

We have a 2011 Mini All 4. After fixing the 4WD gearbox the dreaded death rattle started at about 65k miles. Researching the reality of replacing the timing chains & tensioner it doesn't take long to realise this is no job for the amateur. The next stage is to find a good garage to complete the work as BMW want far too much to fix their poor design.In short, having spoken to a fair number of them, it soon becomes obvious that they're after the monies rather than doing a proper job with the right parts. There are so many Cowboys and Indians out there promising the earth.When I finally got around to calling Steve & Louis at Prestige Engines, the relaxed chat was a relief, relaxed because of their experience and competency on these BMW engines. Louis explained the whole process: It's not a small job, why they take the engine out, the BMW parts they use (directly from the supplier), why they put in new big ends, a new clutch (optional), the time it takes, the progress photos, the price and a 12m warranty.So, I trailered the car from Scotland to them. Progress photos poured in, chats were had and after a week or so it was picked up and driven home. What a difference! Great job, great price, great warranty, great service. Why would you not use them?Wait, there is more!After about 9 months we noted burning oil from the back of the engine. A quick look and chat with Louis concluded that it MAY be the oil feed line from the Turbo... now while he didn't touch this as part of the overhaul, he suggested we bring it back, under his warranty, for him to take the engine out, again, to fix the problem. I don't think there is any other garage that would do that! In short, we drove it down for him to look at it, identify the problem and fix it, under warranty.Anyway, dropped off on the Friday, he worked on it over the weekend / Monday, found the problem (damaged injector) and replaced it, all under warranty.Don't waste your time saving a few quid with the Cowboys and Indians (he showed me some real botched jobs he's having to fix on a number of V8s and 4 cylinder blocks).Go to these guys, they really do know what they are doing with these BMW engines... not just the Mini ones!So, while being a long review, it really is worth explaining why he deserves 5+ stars....

As a field service engineer, I was in a position where I needed to buy a car at short notice, As I do alot of driving, I needed a good solid reliable car and found a BMW 7 series 15 reg for £8.5 but had done 180,000 miles. My last BMW 3 tourer had for 12 years and done 400k miles. I knew if engine good, car will last a long time. I searched the web and found Prestige. I liked their informative website and booked to have my engine overhauled (as no service history given when I brought the car). When I dropped the car, meeting Steve and Louis (Louis was assigned to do the work), I knew the car was in good hands. Louis showed me around the workshop and work he was doing on another engine, I was very impressed. During the overhaul, Louis updated me at the various stages with photos and error codes before work etc. The turbo was showing signs of wear, I was asked if I wanted that replaced which I agreed and it was done within time frame, amazing. What I really like about Prestige, is that they are open, trust worthy and do the work professionally. I mean, that's what they do, strip down, build up and repair engines all the time. They have gained the experience on doing quite a skilled and complicated job, it's like 2nd nature to them. It's like I now have a good working luxury car at a low price, beautiful to drive. Thank you Louis for doing a great job, and Steve for running a decent company providing an excellent service!

I found prestige online after my mini countryman had a snapped timing chain which BMW wanted 9500 (basically a new engine) after much research and some offers that seemed too good to be true (which they probably were) I contacted Louis at prestige he explained to me they use only genuine parts and you get a 12 month 15000 warranty) no one else even came close to this most were 6 months only with after market parts. Prestige were highly recommended even the mechanic at BMW recommended them. Louis arranged collection of my car at no extra cost (within the collection distance). He kept me updated daily throughoutThe whole process (see attached photos). The whole job was completed within 4 days. I opted to go back for my 1000 mile oil change and louis rechecked the engine for leaks etc. After talking to Louis it was obvious he is a highly experienced technician with a passion for cars. The whole experience was excellent the customer service is second to none (for what was quite a stressful time if anyone has had a major car failure). Overall the knowledge, service and value for money was excellent and I can’t recommend them highly enough.

My chain on my BMW E87 118d snapped whilst driving on the motorway and then lost complete engine power. Unfortunately BMW know this is a common issue on N47 engines however they do not take accountability for it. I was without a car and had a look a look through forums and Prestige German Engines were recommended many times.I spoke to Steve who gave me a lot more information about the problem, how it was caused and options I have going forward. He was very informative and not at all pushy, he provided a turnaround time as he had other rebuilds but also giving reassurance which is the peace of mind I needed. He also helped arrange the transport of my car to his garage via Dean (5* service).Steve kept me in the loop throughout the process with pictures and advised on other parts that needed replacing which I asked him to do too. Steve and Louis managed to get the engine rebuild done within a week so I had the car back 2 weeks earlier that expected. The garage is in the middle of nowhere but he did collect me from the train station and gave my car a good wash beforehand. Cannot be happier to get my car back, it runs so smooth and quiet now.Cannot recommend Steve and Louis enough for the quality of their work and the service they provide, if you do not believe me read the other reviews here. Reach out to Steve if you are worried about your chain snapping or if you have done 90k+ miles change it before it snaps!
