We really enjoyed our visit to this museum with a six year old and two three year old children. The staff were very helpful and had special printed trail finder sheet" round the museum looking for things. The six year old had letters to look for while the three year olds and shapes. There is also a large play area with lots of toys and bricks which kept our lot busy for ages.Adults are not forgotten either. There are very informative displays and films that really bring the whole experience to life. I certainly learned a lot about Gloucester docks and how they acted as a transfer point between importa and the black country. There is a nice little cafe with decent coffee and a selection of snacks. I was very impressed that they provided us with cups so we could share a large bottle of drink we bought between the children.I would certainly go back if I was in the area."

I took my 2 year granddaughter to the story with Father Christmas. She thoroughly enjoyed the experience and at £12 it was good value for money. The room was warm and beautifully decorated and the story just long enough to keep them entertained and had an important message about being kind.

Great day out and good value even in this time of watching every penny. The Boat trip was wonderful and well informed regarding its history as a Little Ship at Dunkirk. Good place for children and pets. Although anyone with a wheelchair might be an issue getting on board the boat.A new exhibition of the civilian Captain of the boat has just been put on display and the family was visiting the day we attended.

I’ve been on the canals for 10 years and so it was finally time to visit the waterways museum. What a brilliant place, and so much information. Lovely little cafe and great gift shop. The service i received was brilliant, couldn’t fault a thing. Highly recommended visiting.

very nice little museum that gives you a good, basic understanding of the history of gloucester as a port as well as the history of transportation of goods. Wish it had a little more detail but otherwise makes for a good day out.

Great place to know history about docks.Once you buy the ticket, it will be valid for a whole year and you can visit it as many times as you want.... How amazing!!!It's a huge place to cover in a day, if you are also visiting other places in Gloucester, so plan your day accordingly.

I hoped for more, considering that the museum has 2 stars (out of 3) in the Michelin Green Guide. The Severn cruise isn’t nothing special either. The museum itself provides the basic info (well explained) for you to understand the english canals.

Very informative museum, lots to see regarding canals and waterways, good history of waterways in and around Gloucester. The surrounding area around museum, the rejuvanation of the docks is fantastic, the old warehouses may have been altered from their original purpose but are still emblazoned with their original warehouse names, lots to see and do.

A major disappointment. Really overpriced for the meager collection on two floors. Primarily aimed at kids with a few historic curios & video displays with a few animated steam engine displays. They have 3 disabled parking bays. But they are very difficult to find & the local security guy tried to stop us ever reaching them.Friendly staff & there is a boat ride (when it's running). The docks & buildings are far more interesting. I'd just walk around them for an hour & take pictures. Obviously a superb place once. You can also see a massive dredger outside.
