Whatley Manor Hotel & Spa

Thank you to the amazing team at Whatley Manor and especially to Olly for making our stay extra special! Everything from start to finish was fantastic and the executive chef - Ricky's food was an experience we will never forget! Honestly wow! We hope to come back soon again!

It was my first time at Whatley Manor. We have been upgraded on arrival from Junior Suite to Suite, which was unexpected and nice. It was luxurious, very spacious and ideal for an indulgent spa break. We had an incredible tasting event on our second evening; the kitchen experience was fun; the kitchen team looked very calm and professional and the dishes looked stunning. The level of creativity and presentation was of a high standard. As a global travellers we have been to many tasting experiences and we were pleasantly surprised with the quality of the dishes, imagination of the chef and selection of wine that accompanied our dishes.The hotel itself is absolutely magnificent and tastefully appointed. I loved the roaring log fireplace.I had lovely and absolutely phenomenal Spa experience. The atmosphere in the Spa is welcoming and relaxing. Amenities are great and very clean. The temperature in the sauna is just right and pool is a good size.I would like to say a special thank you to Georgia who’s very considerate and did a lovely facial for me. I went for a 90-minutes Secret Facial treatment, which was amazing, my therapist Georgia made me feel very relaxed and the treatment was very effective. My skin felt rejuvenated! Georgia is very experienced, skilled, and professional therapist with magic touch. I was impressed with her skills. She clearly explained the whole procedure at the start; so, I was aware during the treatment what steps she performed.The staff at reception were super friendly. I was offered smoothy on arrival and a lovely cup of herbal tea once I finished, which was the perfect ending to a great treatment at the relaxion area.If you're looking for an amazing massage, then you must visit Spa.Will be back for more ☺️Absolutely recommended!

Loved every part of this place, stunning rooms (we had a private patio area and garden) Food was incredible, especially the taster menu. Staff all very friendly, my wife and I agreed it was posh without the uncomfortable snobbery. Will visit again

My mom and I had an unforgettable holiday in the Whatley Manor hotel. From the breathtaking estate, amazing room which was equipped with EVERYTHING you need, lovely and friendly staff and delicious food, we just did not want to leave this magical place. The Spa facilities are of the top quality and you can really immerse yourself on the beauty of the cotswolds countryside by having a walk in the amazing gardens.

My Wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Whatley, the hotel grounds were gorgeous and the setting was tranquil and quite. The weather was more than perfect during our stay, so we enjoyed wandering the grounds taking in the views and natural setting of Whatley's location, as well as exploring some local towns in the area.The staff were very accommodating and wonderful to interact with. Plenty of spaces around the hotel to sit and relax, both inside and out. We wished we had more time to enjoy our stay, we will certainly be back in the near future.

Beautiful hotel, disappointing serviceA very generous treat from my husband to stay at Whatley Manor unfortunately wasn't the relaxing break we desired.Whilst I cannot fault the aesthetics and cleanliness of the venue, the service and atmosphere was not what I would expect from a 5* luxury hotel. We waited almost 45 minutes for starters at the brasserie, plus another 30 or so for mains, which were obviously left under a heat lamp for as the plate was warm, but the fish was not. We were also left waiting 45 minutes for sandwiches at the spa. However, I think the worst thing was our room door being left open by housekeeping.We raised the issues to management, and had a productive conversation and were thanked for our feedback. We were told this was due to staff illness, which can be sympathised with, but doesn't change the rate we had paid for a 5* service. We were given a free glass of sparkling wine and promised the dinner we had booked at The Dining Room that night would be much better. The food was impeccable, but the atmosphere was quiet and uncomfortable, and whilst the table next to us were congratulated on their anniversary, not a word for my birthday.At the end of the weekend, our bill came through overnight with a service charge placed on everything (yes, everything.) We asked for this to be removed, to which the response was 'oh yes I going to suggest that.' He asked if this was satisfactory, we said not really and were then offered a bottle of champagne at a future stay. It's not really good enough to simply offer for an optional line item to be removed, and only a promise of a free bottle if we paid to come back in the future . We are also still waiting on the follow up email he said he would send.We have been left with quite a sour taste from this experience, and whilst I would recommend Whatley for the spa and grounds, it really lacks finesse and I can't honestly say it is worth the rates they are charging.

Great hotel all around. Rooms, service,staff,food all excellent. The SPA is very nice with lots of relaxing options. We took a 2 hour walk in the area which is beautiful. We have been in the UK for one month and this is our favorite hotel up to now.

My family and I have just returned from a 2 day stay at Whatley Manor. Delightful hotel with amazing staff and food. The Dining Room's Michelin starred tasting menu was superb.Thank you to everyone there for making us feel so welcome and also looking after our 4 legged friend, Monte, he also loved it.

We just finished our recent stay at Whatley Manor, and this review may sound harsh. Know that the hotel is nice & the grounds are superb. The spa is good quality and the gym is OK. The food was good however breakfast was not a buffet as advertised but a made to order deal which was fine. The staff are all lovely and very helpful don’t get me wrong.This would have been a 4 or perhaps 5 star review however there is a big but. At checkout the front desk apply a 10% service charge to your *entire room rate* stay. Given this is a very expensive hotel this is significant, I’ve never seen this before it is akin to a service charge in vegas (Whatley Manor is a middle of the road Vegas hotel at best so have no business charging resort fees)I asked for this to be removed which unfortunately put a real dent on our experience.I hope not to be unfair, but bear this in mind when booking.Please be upfront with your prices and pay your staff fairly. If you need to increase prices by 10% then do that. Note the hotel was almost empty with 2 or 3 other rooms occupied so my focus would be on getting guest through the door rather than extorting your existing patrons.This is even more uncomfortable when you understand who is the owner of this hotel.

What a lovely stay we had at Whatley Manor! Olly made our entire stay truly special and one we will always remember. Everything was fantasic and the food journey was an unforgettable experience! The executive chef, Ricky really did wonders! Very much looking forward to staying and dining in again soon!
