National Trust - Knowles Mill

Great place to stop on your travels around wyre forest. It has lots of interesting information about the mill provided by national Trust. It's a good place to stop has a small sheltered area with benchs great for a cuppa tea especially when it's raining, lots of birds in and around the Brook which can be spotted from the bridge.

A lovely little hidden Gem. Amazing to see all the workings of a mill in place.

beautiful place to go and have a walk and visit the National Trust have some outstanding properties and I would recommend going along to see this mail to anybody. the forest area around here is one of natural beauty that's why the National Trust was interested in this meal and have kept it in its original state. the Paths around the area can be a little muddy and wet when it's been raining but in this glorious summer of 2018 the Paths are absolutely fine please no wear sensible shoes when going around this area

Really liked seeing Knowles Mill. We took the car right down to across the river from it and the road is quite narrow and very muddy if it rains. The mill itself is unmanned. There is not a stamp for the passport book or toilets. There are alot of information boards here to look at. It's got a great atmosphere. Would recommend a visit.

We had a lovely walk to find the Mill. You can drive straight to it but the lane is very narrow and muddy and you’ll miss the cairn art in the river. We enjoyed being mudlarks and found old blue and white pottery and a vintage beer bottle buried in the mud at the edge of the river opposite the cottage. There are no facilities so take a picnic.

Lovely stroll along the dis-used railway track from Dry Mill lane car park (free parking). The railway track has a good surface to walk (like NT pathways) leading to tarmac further along. Look out for the large wooden gate on RH side after about 15 mins or so with information about the Knowles Mill estate. Through the gate you descend slowly along a narrow dirt footpath ( couple of fallen tree trunks easily climbed over if you’re agile that is. Down through the valley for about 10 mins or so and come out at the back of NT Knowles Mill. Cut down the side between that and a private property, over a wooden bridge turning right through the woods along a quiet private rd. We took our dogs down the the edge of the brook for a paddle along here, they loved it. Continue along the road passing a couple of other private properties before reaching a bend and working your way back to the car park. Lovely circular walk, about an hour tops.Very peaceful and tranquil.

A place of incredible beauty and a lot of history, unfortunately it is abandoned and today, as it stands, parts of the mill's surroundings present a high risk of falling for unsuspecting people walking there, the national trust must urgently take better care of this mill, which It represents a lot to the history of Bewdley.

Not really much there. And the road to it isn't a road. It's a rutted mud path so you're better walking or biking then trying to take a car despite what Google Maps says.

I love this place. A quiet walk through wyre forest and you come upon the mill. So peaceful. Beautiful walk.
