Nunnery Lane Car Park

A good car park (but not very big) .. to start your visit in York... With part of the York city wall right by it... Which leads you in to city centre...

It's very picturesque, but difficult to park in, unless you have a small car. The tariffs didn't make sense either. We pulled up the PayByPhone app, which we've used before in other locations, but the prices were much higher than those advertised on the board. So instead we started to use the ticket machine and pay by card. The price was as advertised for one hour, but as soon as we tried to add another hour, it bumped up the cost massively and charged us all the way to midnight! This might be because we were transitioning between daytime and evening, but there was no way I was prepared to pay over £9 for 2 hours, so we abandoned the transaction and moved to a different car park that worked properly.

Expensive and spaces are tiny with very little space to park a normal sized car. You have to let all passengers out before squeezing your car into the spaces.

£8 for three hours! And the parking spaces are so small you can barely get out of your car. I guess the joke is on me, though!

Great location not far from town centre. No problem finding a space and there are toilet facilities. It is quite expensive £8 for 2-3 hours

Great location and reasonable overnight rates, but very tight for space as there is parking for a row of vehicles down the centre.

Easily accessible and seems to have spaces available when we use it. Well positioned for access to shops, pubs and Everyman cinema. Pay by card or use the Paybyphone app. Not cheap but that's what you'd expect from York car parks.

We parked here because we needed a charge but although the charging was cheap at 35p/kw the actual car park, (yes, you do have to pay for parking even when charging, contrary to what other reviews say) the parking was £13 for up to 4 hours! Ridiculous really.

Used this carpark for an overnight trip to York... recommend x
