Conrad is an excellent dog trainer with a real gift for teaching dogs and people. We had a great time learning with our dog Blue in his group and individual classes. Conrad's classes are underpinned by a coherent pedagogical approach which emphasises reward-based training but develops into a 'concept-based' approach to elevate it beyond the performance of tasks and into transferable skills (i.e. focus, rather than just 'look at me'). His small-group classes include a range of enjoyable applied learning scenarios as well as useful exercises for us to perform at home and out on walks. Conrad is assisted by colleagues, meaning each dog and owner gets a lot of attention and advice. Each group class also includes time for the dogs to socialise with each other at the end. The one-to-one sessions, which can be scheduled at the owner's own convenience and allow time to address any specific issues or areas for development in the dog's behaviour. Conrad has always been helpful and responsive in our communications. I would definitely recommend Tail Academy puppy classes to anyone with a puppy.

Conrad helped us with our English bulldog 14 months old - Ralph. Before we decided on the trainer I spent days researching options in Edinburgh and when coming across Tail Academy, I literally got a great vibe. Conrad was kind enough to talk to me on the phone before made the decision to go ahead with 121 training, explaining about his approach but also asking questions about us and our pup, this was exactly what I was looking for.We had 4 individual sessions with Conrad at our place and local park over several weeks. Not only Ralph is finally behaving and listening to us but also we learnt a great deal from Conrad ourselves, it really was training for us not Ralphie . I found Conrad really attentive, fun to work with and most importantly loving animals, Ralph took to him instantly and really followed all the guidance and instructions through play and reward.I cannot recommend Tail Academy enough, knowledge, patience and total commitment are few of many aspects. What was the best; whatever we asked about Conrad had an answer and an idea for us and our dog to learn and train. We focused on jumping up on people (this was our biggest issue), recall, managing his boredom and walking without jumping on our feet. We got ton of tips which we are following now. We most definitely see a huge difference in the behavior. I will be going back to Tail Academy at some point to ensure we keep on top of what we learnt.Thank you very much Conrad! Our dog Uisge was too old for the puppy classes, so we had a set of 1-1 classes. As a first time dog owner, Conrad has really given me so much more confidence with Uisge. In a fun way, I learnt lots in every session, including behaviour management, teaching commands and getting a mix of play, work and relaxation. Conrad is very friendly, professional, knowledgeable, organised and adaptable. He worked well with both myself and my partner, who have very different personalities! We are definitely going to book another set of 1-1 sessions and want to also do some of the group activity classes. Thank you very much :)

Following good recommendations we decided to sign up for classes with Tail Academy. It was the best decision we could possibly make. Conrad and his team set us on the right track with Monty’s training and now we have such a well behaved dog. We avoided so many mistakes I did training my previous dog. Tail academy offers selection of follow up classes and personalized advices provided by experienced staff. I can’t recommend them enough !

I signed up for 4 121 sessions with Conrad to aid my training of my 8 month old, adolescent cockapoo, Maya. We'd done a lot of basic training in the early days but Conrad really took us to the next level particularly at an age that can be challenging for pups and owners alike! The training sessions have given me a great deal of confidence as well as tools and games to play with Maya. It's safe to say we both enjoy our walks a lot more now and our bond has grown after working on recall, loose leash walking, distraction training and many other games. The sessions were incredibly valuable and Conrad listened really well, observed Maya and myself to make sure the advice was relevant and specific for our needs and all the sessions were great fun. Conrad is an amazing dog trainer. I had four 121 sessions for my border collie, who pulls quite a lot on the lead and can be quite anxious when he sees cars. Conrad helped us learn tricks and develop behaviours that have made an incredible difference! Conrad was very positive and incredibly professional. Would highly recommend.

It has now been almost 2 months since we completed our Puppy Class with Conrad. It has made an amazing difference.We have kept up doing what we learned in Class and we have received so many compliments on how well behaved our BT Basil is. He used to be a little impossible on walks, as he'd want to meet EVERYONE but we are now able to literally walk past people without even stopping.He has also become much better with his recalls and overall training.And I very much believe its from all the good advice that Conrad was able to give us.100% recommended :)

Easy to organise, reliable communication. Conrad has great knowledge and is able to attend to multiple dogs/people in the same session so that everyone is satisfied. I got so much out of the group sessions and combined with a 121 session it was a perfect mixture of broad scope of topics covered and individual attention. Conrad gave us a lot of support, and tips how can we teach Hazel commands, how can she walk on lead better, and we were practicing recall. We were struggling because she wasn’t interested treats outdoor, but also she rather take other people’s treats:PWe are greatful as we are able now get her attention, her recall is super and she is such a good dog. Tail Academy is an absolutely amazing dog training program! We brought our pup all the way from the USA! Conrad was our trainer and was able to train my wife and I as well as Stella. Listen to the trainers! There are habits you have to break in your own home and he will help point these out. No one is pushy nor condescending when they teach.!Highly recommend.
