Matford Park and Ride
Parked at Matford park & ride, which is quite a large carpark located on the outskirts of Exeter town centre, where customers can then take the Stagecoach" bus into Exeter Town Centre or Exeter's Bus Station. My fair was £2 each way so £4 in total but no charge for carpark. Very useful service to avoid congestion & expensive parking fees in town. A great idea. Service operates on a regular frequency so can stay as long as needed before returning to carpark."

Not my favourite park and ride for Exeter, it's always packed on weekdays but sparsely used on Saturday mornings so it's good for shopping visits. The waiting area has a coffee stall and small shelter and the route in takes you through matford trading estate and past the councils recycling site. The buses are single deck because of the low railway bridge en route and seem to be always packed, I'm often standing. I prefer the Honiton P&R site as its near the motorway and uses double deckers. Also the wait time from the city centre is longer than the Honiton ones.

Park and ride for Exeter. Large car park right next door to the bus depot. Toilets, cafe kiosk and bus shelter. Regular buses to/ from the city centre until 7/8pm. No charge to park just pay for the bus fare. Stagecoach kneeling bus for easy access. Check their website for timetables. Stagecoach drivers are often around and happy to give advice and information where they can.Watch out for the narrow entrance. It's the small entrance directly off the roundabout and not the road which goes to the bus depot itself and the self storage business next door.

This is a great service. Runs really well. So much better than having to drive and park in the city centre. Will use this all the time from now on......

It worked perfectly for us as the traffic is horrendous in Exeter and when we returned, the bus was running 30 minutes late, so not so perfect as there were so many people, they could not get on and at other stops the driver hardly bothered to stop, that means another 30 minutes wait for passengers who won't have a chance if you don't jump on in the centre of town, you are stuffed! It's dog friendly at least. Very near dealerships for all the big car brands so very handy if you are having your car serviced. Start early don't leave it too late. The bus knows all the short cuts!

This Park and Ride doesn't operate in the same way as others I've used. One I've used you pay to park (about £5) and get a ticket for the bus, the system in Exeter is very different, potentially, if there's 5 adults in a car, it would cost £20 in bus fares, which is much more expensive than paying to park in a town centre car park, I thought the idea of Park & Ride was to keep traffic out of city centres.

Great place to park and ride. Signage is a bit painful, missed the entrance on the roundabout(needs improving), which on a busy roundabout is a bit testy. The bus station has buses all over the bottom of the car park so park wisely. Tickets about £9 for the return. Dogs are free.
