Spartans is everything you hope a sports club would be for your child. Coach Wayne & his team are kind, genuinely caring, encouraging, inclusive of all abilities, and push the more able and competitive children, whilst always maintaining a strong sense of team.My eldest son has been with Spartans since it started & still enjoys every training session... My younger son has recently joined too... both boys thoroughly enjoying it, and growing in confidence & ability with every session.I highly recommend Spartans Basketball Academy to any parent, whether looking for an inclusive team sports club, or a highly competitive advanced basketball team.

Very good coaching, particularly for youngsters (ages 5 to 6). Mixture of theory and fun matches and the kids really enjoy it. The class is fairly big though so they are trying to introduce break-out groups which will help a lot.

My son Otto has been going to Spartans for the past 3 years and loves it! Coach Wayne is brilliant and always encourages Otto in a positive way which has really helped him to stick with it.

An amazing sports club with a highly inspiring coach that creates and maintains consistent positive vibes and a healthy competing spirit in the young players.My 16 years old son absolutely loves going to training sessions and participating in matches and his physical skills as well as team spirit have significantly improved since he has started training at Spartans just over a year ago, and basketball has since played a very important role in how he feels about himself and his abilities as a teenager.What I also appreciates about this Academy is that they are well aware that studying and performing well at school must be of utmost importance in the lives of these youngsters and they are not trying to reverse this priority order, whereas they are also encouraging teenagers to take this sport seriously.I would highly recommend Spartans and Coach Wayne to any parent whose child is thinking of improving their basketball skills without stressing themselves out.

My son has been a part of the Spartans family now for a few years and absolutely loves the training and the amazing coaches. This is an outstanding club that provides the kids with excellent and professional coaching with 100% commitment. The sessions are fun and disciplined and every member of Spartans is encouraged to be the best they can.Even during the whole of lockdown, Coach Wayne provided numerous zoom sessions for the children to keep them motivated and their fitness levels up. This was something that I can honestly say was a blessing to my son during the lockdown. My boys and I absolutely love the Kingston Spartans Basketball Academy. I played basketball competitively for 12 years and Coach Wayne and his staff are the best representation of why I fell in love with basketball. They are kind & caring, encouraging & professional, welcoming & disciplined; all while promoting team spirit and inspiring young children and teens to be the best they can be.The Spartan family truly care about the kids - they go above and beyond to develop not only a love of basketball, but an awareness of how playing sports is advantageous to your mental and physical health. Even during lockdown, Coach Wayne was able to motivate my struggling 10 year old to return to online sessions; which ultimately improved his outlook and attitude.Most importantly, my kids have had a lot of fun and have developed a healthy competitiveness and appreciation for teamwork. Spartans has been fantastic for my son. Training with Spartans has ignited a real passion for the game, and as well as his improving skills we can see the positive influence it has had in terms of his confidence and work ethic. Spartans has a very inclusive and supportive feel, and seems to promote a real team ethos, allowing players to be competitive but also supportive and encouraging of each other. My son also convinced my daughter to join Spartan’s training at their after school club and she is really enjoying it too.

An absolutely amazing basketball club, we are so glad and fortunate to be part of the Spartans family. All of the coaches are fantastic, friendly and definitely excellent peers for my growing boys.Coach Wayne and Catherine have created a brilliant academy where you can see how much dedication and heart they have put in, creating a professional and well structured layout so that it is accessible to all school ages and levels. Respect for coaches, your team member and opponent is a key point in the Spartans mentality and exactly what I was looking for when we joined this academy. Anyone can play basketball but respect for others at all times makes you exceptional.Lockdown was tough but right from the beginning Coach Wayne put on regular online session, competitions and challenges which kept my boys engaged in something they love and motivated them to stay fit for the return of in court practice and games. As a parent I was so grateful for this.We started with Spartans in the U10s and U12 levels and through constant practice, their hard work and motivation from the club, my boys are now fortunate enough to represent Spartans in the U14 and U16 leagues. The boys have grown in confidence in their abilities and skills, made great friends in both team members and coaches and we owe it all to the Spartans mentality and environment. I know my boys will carry these values forward into their adult lives.I highly recommend Spartan Basketball Academy to any child of any ability.

We've been with coach Wayne ever since he coached my eldest son's team to the last 8 in the national schools championships. Now, nearly 10 years after my eldest was coached by him, my youngest is training with coach Wayne and his coaching team at his Spartans Academy. The ethos that Wayne brought from 10 years ago is still running strong - the kids will work hard for him because he cares, he makes it fun, and he lets them flourish. Great balance of drills, matchplay and enjoyment - highly recommended.
