War Memorial
This is one of the few War Memorials that I have come across that is located in the grounds of a church, in this case, All Saints Church in Mears Ashby.It comomorates those lost in the Great War of 1914 - 1918. The Memorial was designed by architects Messers Talbot, Brown & Fisher and was built by Higgins Brothers Builders. Unfortunately, I could not find a date of unveiling.The memorial has a two stepped octagonal base which mounted with a square plinth. The octagonal column tapers and is topped with a decorative Latin Cross.As the Memorial is located in the church grounds, it is very peaceful and serene, with a very tranquil atmosphere.
