Painted Fern Tattoo

It is always a pleasure to get tattooed at Painted Fern! An essential LGBT+ friendly space and an incredibly welcoming atmosphere. Felix is phenomenal and professional in all aspects of their work, and I always leave happy.Hot and cold drinks, snacks and fidgets on hand at all times. Accessible layout and provisions for anyone who needs them. Overall, one of my favourite spaces in Birmingham that I intend to go to for my tattoos for as long as I am able!

Always have such a wonderful experience with Felix and the crew. They make you feel incredibly welcome and safe and the new space is absolutely amazing, they've thought of everything to make the experience special. Felix's art is stunning and I get so many comments on my tattoos by them. Their flash is beautiful and imaginative and their custom work is just as stunning. Looking forward to many more visits.

Great tattoo studio. I was booked in with Laura who was a guest artist. I was made to feel very welcome and it's a nice clean, well decorated studio with incredible artists. Would recommend to anyone

Highly recommended. Had Sleeve back chest and started another sleeve with one of the artist and will never go anywhere else. Studio is clean fresh and inviting aswell as feeling secure abd friendly. All staff there just want to help you have the best time and are always coming up with great drawings or doing exactly what you ask for.

Firstly this studio is so accessible. As someone that’s neurodivergent, I found everything I needed to know to make me feel comfortable attending on their Instagram. It’s a very welcoming and accepting studio. I had a tattoo done by Felix and he was great. They made sure I was okay during the tattoo and just made the whole experience amazing, despite the placement of the tattoo being an especially painful spot! Couldn’t recommend Painted Fern or Felix enough :)

Had a tattoo done with billy, lovely guy amazing tattoo work. Studio very calming lovely chilled vibe very clean and modern. Staff were all very nice and friendly would recommend to anyone. Felt like i was with friends.

absolutely wonderful shop. its welcoming and friendly and supply snacks, drinks and even stim toys! Billy nailed my tattoo and was so kind and chatty, he made me feel so comfortable it was amazing. Couldn't recommend this place enough, thank you so much <33-rhys

THE MOST queer/trans/neurodivergent friendly tattoo studio in the region, Felix, holly, and Billy are always smiling and happy to fulfill any insane request you have, and pull out all the stops to make your visit as accessible and painless as possible. it is lacking in the overwhelming presence so many studios are plagued by. there are snacks and fidgets on hand, and hot and cold drinks available for clients at all times. Its the only studio I ever plan on going to for the rest of my time in this part of the country (however long that is). cannot recommend enough. if I could rate this 8 stars I would.

Had a tattoo done with Felix after he came highly recommended from multiple friends. He ran with my idea and the mock-up drawing he sent was precisely what I wanted; he guided me through every detail to make sure he had the perfect understanding of how I wanted the final outcome to look. Healed perfectly and is now my favourite tattoo I have.Every part about the process instilled trust in both Felix and Painted Fern as an environment - the studio was extremely clean and hygienic, staff were incredibly friendly and it was refreshing to see how much care was put in to make sure the experience was as accommodating to LGBT+, disabled and neurodiverse customers, and I think that authentic care is what makes the folks at Painted Fern so special.Cannot praise my experience with them highly enough, and as mentioned I cannot count how many times I have have complimented a friends tattoo only to have them say they had it done at Painted Fern and that they had similarly positive experiences.Will definitely be booking in again!
