After starting drumming in school with Matt, both our sons were inspired to take weekly lessons in his studio. They are both different in how they learn and what makes them 'tick' and Matt has this amazing ability to read their individual characters and adapt his teaching to bring out the best in them. Nothing is too much when it comes to making sure his students get the best experience possible. There isn't a 'one size fits all' with Matt. His lessons are individually tailored to fit the needs and characters of each student whilst ensuring enjoyment and progression at the same time. He puts the fun into learning and his students are rewarded with fantastic exam results and a great sense of achievement. We would 100% recommend Matt to everyone!!!

I am so happy that I changed my 12-year old son’s guitar teacher from a school-based one to Matt. His confidence has improved no end and he now practices because he wants to, not because I nag him to. He looks forward to his lessons and his playing is getting better every week. I’ve heard Matt described as a legend and we would both have to agree!

Matt is so passionate at what he does and it really shows. He goes above and beyond every step of the way and genuinely cares about his students. Matt teachers my daughter to play piano- he is great with her & has learnt what is the best way to teach her so she understands & responds. He has the knowledge to try many different approaches & tailors his approach according to his student which then gets the best out of them. He is always very accommodating around lesson times & any amendments we need to make. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Matt to anyone looking for a music teacher

My daughter was feeling deflated about her lack of progress with her old drum teacher and had quit for a while but then I heard through word of mouth about Matt and how engaging and child-centred his approach was so in a last-ditch attempt to reignite some enthusiasm in my daughter we contacted Matt and organised a lesson. The difference in her enthusiasm & confidence after 1 lesson just blew me away. 6 months on she has made twice the progress she made in 2 years with her old teacher. I can’t help wondering if we had gone with Matt in the first place, how good she would be now. If you want someone who actually “gets” your child and makes learning drums inspiring and exciting- Matt is the teacher you’re looking for.

My son has been learning guitar with Matt for over a year now and he loves it. Matt has a great way of engaging him and we’ve seen great progress in playing guitar as a result. Matt is always reviewing his session plans and tailoring the sessions to keep it relevant and up to date. I visited the studio last session and it has everything to keep the learning fun and varied.

I started learning to play the drums at the age of 50, (Dec 2022) having never even sat behind a drum kit, let alone hit a drum. Matt has been absolutely brilliant....his patience with me has been utterly amazing.9 months on and im learning so much every session.
