Had a sectional agarage door fitted, choosing Hormann and paying the premium as was recommended as good quality. After 6 years of light domestic use the drive motor has packed up, a princely £350 + fitting + vat to replace. Oh and theyre currently out of stock until who knows when. German quality hah! steer well clear.

Please see attached images of a major issue in paint used on Hormanns roller shutters. This is the second roller shutter door as the orginal was replaced under warranty by Hormann due to the paint issue. And it's been doing it again for over a year and is unbearable now. I've been trying to ignore it but it's so unbearable to look at now. I have contacted the original installer who should be contacting Hormann for a warranty call. If they don't accept it then I will have to take them to court as this is not on. You pay good money for a German brand. And this is not what I expected. Hormann.. your more then welcome to contact me directly for a resolution.

HORMANN produce the best garage gates. Top German quality. I am mega happy with Hormann brand.

We use these doors at my work place and have over 60 of them and at least 8 go wrong on a daily basis with people being trapped inside a loading bay cause the sensor flashes red instead of green and the mushroom button doesn't work

If I can can give less then 1 star I would give them. We had pre-paid contract with Hormann for 5 years, I was really happy with them and their great engineers, till their last pre-paid service. They started ignoring all my emails and didn't even finish their job after last visit. Very disappointed!

Unfortunately our new build family home was fitted with an automatic Hormann up and over garage door.Its dreadful, its brand new and barely works, we have to assist it to open by hand every time and often have to do the same to get it to close. Its quite literally the opposite of what you should be getting from an automatic" door.We had the local fitter attend to look at the problem a couple of days ago

Great garage doors that look great and generally work well. Would be 5* - but loses one star as they don't always shut on hot days (presumably they expand slightly) and the small key-ring remote control is cheap and comes apart - I have had to buy 3 replacements (£40 each on Amazon) in just 2 years
