This organization misled my family member, who was already in a very vulnerable situation, into signing documentation surrendering her dog permanently, even though she believed it was only temporary until she was rehoused. When she was rehoused, they invoked the documentation she had signed without any leeway, and even made remarks suggesting that she was a cruel pet owner, despite the lack of evidence to support this claim. Their unprofessional, uncompassionate, and unempathetic behavior caused my family great distress and grief, as the dog was a beloved member of the family for eight years.We were disappointed that the organization appeared to tar my family member with a broad brush without considering the context of their situation. If I had been the dog's owner, I would have taken them to court, but unfortunately I was not and was given legal advice from a solicitor about having a reasonable claim. The only reason the dog was surrendered was because my family member received a Section 21 notice and was unable to find temporary accommodation for the dog.
