Specsavers Opticians and Audiologists - Wrexham

Very happy with the clinical staff and option during an eye test. They were kind and engaging and friendly. I have never had glasses before so it was all quite new to me. The bit I really did not enjoy was the salesman at the end. He seemed impatient and frustrated at my questions about what seems like quite a complex pricing structure. He dismissed the glasses I had picked and generally made me feel very uncomfortable. I didn't really understand what his purpose was either. He is clearly paid handsomely judging by his expensive watch, suit and shoes. I got typical salesman vibes. Sorry not for me and I had to leave as quick as I could. Will only use again because work provide a voucher for the eye test exclusively with them

Arrived Friday 3.15pm very busy in the store. Asked to sit down, then up and down for variety of tests. Shop was very warm and strong smell of BO was apparent in the small testing rooms. Not good. Finally had my eye test 40 mins after I arrived. Shop still to busy so didn’t manage to purchase new specs as it had all taken so long, and most of that was waiting around, I then had to go back to work. Very disappointed, got out of shop 5pm with no new specs and prescription had changed. Now need to factor in time to buy new glasses !!!

I had an eye test booked for 11am but then had half a dozen reminders of it. Although when I got there it was actually for 11.20! Not my mistake. The work force and excellent and caring but really over worked in my opinion. I've been there an hour so far and I'm still waiting for my field test.Edit-I finally had my test once I said I had to leave, then the machine broke down.I would recommend Specsavers Wrexham as although (in my opinion) more staff as required as the current staff seemed rushed of their feet my Optician Emma was fantastic and very thorough. I can't rate her highly enough. The most important thing was the test itself which was great.

Dreadful customer service.About three years ago I tried to cancel my contact lens plan, the lady on the phone assured me they would, but continued to take my money. I kept calling and kept being assured it would stop, but no luck.Eventually I cancelled the direct debit on my end and received a call asking why, again the lady was shocked.No matter, I thought, IT mistakes happen, I need an eye test so booked one with the lady on the phone.Today, I get delayed on the way and call to let them know I'll be five minutes late, only to be told that there is no point turning up and I will have to re-book.Considering you've charged me close to £500 for something I told you repeatedly I didn't want, you'd think they could spare five minutes?

Busy but well ran. Staff friendly and competent. Brilliant with my children. I found the range of designer glasses a bit limited, looked like a reasonable amount but lots of duplicates. Would have liked a bit more choice

Eye test was fine. Lack of service whilst trying to choose frames for my daughter. Was told someone would be over shortly to assist. After 20 plus minutes waiting whilst they finished chatting I gave up and left.

Went in without appointment to browse new glasses after recent eye test. I was sat down and spoken to and given more information than I needed and without pressure to spend more than I wanted to given 1st class service as though I was the only customer in the shop. Thank you James ( I think) White man in his 40s to 50s with South East accent who was very well presented. You are an asset to the store.

Thoroughly professional and polite, James and the team, while making me fully informed and aware of my options, quickly established my needs and expectations and provided an excellent service. Well done Specsavers Wrexham

This review needs to be split between the optical and sales however my overall experience has to be one star. I received a first class eye test. Because they couldn't get a decent picture of my eyes the optician called me back and got a better picture with eye drops and was thorough with the examination. This is through a corporate eye test scheme. Because you get a contribution towards glasses and they will add to that discount I wanted to get glasses with them. This is where it went badly wrong. I selected a pair of normal and sunglasses and then was completely confused by his sales pitch. I'm not buying a car where metallic paint is a nice added extra these are extremely important purchases. Needing varifocals makes things complicated but I've not had a problem with other opticians glasses but they need to be suitable. I was given the impression that the standard and next up lenses are not recommended. Why sell them then? I asked what if I don't get on with them and told that there's a 100 days gaurantee but now wouldn't trust them if they told me that it was raining outside! Have now got various prices basically trying to be sold one pair for the price of two. I've been wearing glasses for a long time never have I received such a bad service which left me just wanting to get out of the shop very quickly which I did whilst the sales assistant wrote down some confusing numbers. To be honest I just wanted to get out! Shouldn't have gone to Specsavers! Sort it out and before I get a negative reply from either Specsavers or would not recommend" thumbs down I give very fair reviews only calling out the worst customer service. So get your eyes tested here then run for the hills!
