What a find. Tasty salmon quiche with salad. Best blueberry scones, plenty of blueberries. Excellent service, good coffee.

Excellent food in a historic atmosphere. Fixed menu with two or three choices per course. Bring your own drinks. A fusion of Scottish and French cuisine. Super value.

Love Castle Fraser. Lovely food, bring your own wine, locally sourced food on menu. Nice ambiance, staff friendly and welcoming.

Have now been twice to the restaurant and the story is the same , food amazing , the vibe is wonderfull and cosy in the old kitchens , the young waitresses were very good bar a small hiccup with a vegeterian meal but both nights were spoiled by the attitude of the chef / owner. He got upset with us because we had to hang around waiting for our pre booked taxi , the first time was a misunderstanding we thought as the taxi turned up 15mins before the stated closing time of the restaurant but we were basically shepherded out into the courtyard so he could close up . When we booked the second time thinking it was just a bad night from the owner we booked the taxi to arrive an hour before closing time but again after the meal was finished and tidied away and we were enjoying finishing our drinks he stood over and asked us to leave quite forcibly so the serving girls could go home early.I dont usually complain about a chef being a pratt but he went out of his way to being a caricature of a surly Frenchman , needless to say after dropping over £400 on the table from a table of 8 we were not impressed at his attitude, wont be back which is a shame as the food is fantastic .
