Never under estimate the value Black's brings to top brands. Staff friendly and knowledgeable without being too salesy. Was impressed with their knowledge about re proofing old waterproofs. Also there is a 10% discount available at the counter. Bargain.

Very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable staff here who were patient and understanding.I went in for one thing and came out with 4 items, all reasonably priced and quality goods.Each of the staff helped me out in their own way and I was thoroughly satisfied with my experience of coming into BLACKS for the first time, also impressed that each of them are actually interested in outdoor activities rather than simply producing sales.Nice one Harry, Matt - and Adam, I love that cool tash you are sporting!Hope to see either one of you the next time I stop by....

I bought some basic items here just recently (I still prefer the paper maps) and needed to renew my compass, whistle and map case that I lost.Staff friendly and could not find immediately what I required but pointed in the right direction - though the pressure to buy something even though free I did not require was a bit of a nuisance!! (offer not taken up)Discounts are avialabe on non sale items with certain cards (in my case I am a member of the Ramblers Association (the walking charity) but other discount cards are available just need to check when purchasing. Remember that you will need to show evidence for any discount so take your card or ID badge as appropriate)I like to see what I am buying so prefer this to on line!!

I purchased a sleeping bag from the store on Sunday morning. I can't particularly complain about the shopping experience although the staff did come off a bit untrusting towards my small group of three.The issue I really have is that my brand new product, a £55 sleeping bag, had a pair of dirty used hiking socks stuffed in it. Not living remotely near Bristol means that I couldn't return them to the store and currently it's like pulling hens teeth getting a resolution to this issue. An issue that is 100% entirely the fault of the company.

I always receive great service from here. Bought two items and the manager suggested if we bought a third he could add extra discount to our purchase. Thanks to him we saved an additional £30. Fantastic range of clothing and always great advise.

I always have great customer service when I go here, welcomed when I come in and the staff here will help you find anything you need. When I was looking for some hiking boots, the staff here very quickly went and found my size and offered some useful advice for maintaining them. They also made me aware of a deal that lowered the price of my total purchase, showing that they clearly care about the customer getting a good deal. Overall I would say that this is a hidden gem, finding a place that offers value as well as great customer service right in the middle of the centre of Bristol.

Really helpful staff with good knowledge out the products before purchase. I think that level of customer service is rare today. I'd happily go here to make big purchases with the right guidance.

Love this shop!! Got so many good things through it (online and in store). Great gear to go hiking with!I had some wonderful customer service here but then some not so great!A mixed bag if I'm honest.Depends of who's in and how in the mood they are to serve you with some proper advice!!The manager was amazing though, (I forgot his name! Will update if find out) really took the time, a very long time, to talk to me and see what he could do to help, and gave some advice on my first ever hike!! He was amazing! 10/10 stars for him!They have great great sale items and always some amazing offers going on!Beats the prices of higher end outdoor shops.The only major gripe I have about this store is that they don't do anymore click and collect!! It is absolutely unbelievable that they do that to customers!! It makes no sense!But you will be charged for home delivery!!It's just terrible business plan! I mean!
