Great experience! Amazing Diabetic Eye Screening service for my family and quality choice of glasses. Would highly recommend! Staff all care highly for the patients. Busy Practice but amazing service! Best Opticians I have ever been to!

Newly taken over from tylers...went for my diabetic screening, not happy at all..man testing my eyes ,put drops in and said I need to make appointment for eye test also, I asked why do I have to make another appointment when tylers did eye test then put drops in after, to to picture screening of back of eyes..he replied it has to be different day...so I say down waiting a few mins for drops to work, when receptionist asked me if I had drops in, yes I said , only we could have done your eye test now but you've had drops in..? ...dont think they know what they are doing...this will be first time ,and last time here....

Felt safe with the practice taking very good precautions against Covid. The constantly cleaned the entrance door and gave gel/temperature test to each patient. Optician also did her bit cleaning between patients. So all good.

A very poor experience overall. The optometrist (a young man wearing an earring who appeared to be from India with broken English) provided a very poor experience. His communication skills in particular were awful and I struggled to understand him at times.He initially asked if I had brought my glasses with me and when I informed him I had not, he was rude and abrupt. He then began to tell me that the NHS had not been carrying out eye screenings properly for many years and that he was one of 10 opticians in Birmingham that had been given the job of eye screenings. He rambled on about this and how great he was for some time. I have no idea why he would talk about this to a patient but I politely allowed him to finish.A very poor experience and I would recommend patients find an alternative practice unless they want to be spoken to rudely and have their ear chewed off. If the NHS refer you here, I would suggest calling them and asking to go elsewhere.------Reply -I suggest you carry out your own investigations internally to understand why your optometrist behaved how he did.I am also somewhat perplexed as to why you would discuss racism and how inclusive your company is? My review did not accuse you or your staff of anything of the sort. Very confusing.Thanks

I will not be going back. Every time I have been to this opticians since it changed ownership - and on at least 2 occasions with my elderly mother - it has been too busy for staff available and so long waits and staff have arrived very late at start of the day or half way through the day with various excuses - icy weather, traffic etc. Today it was an accident on the motorway which receptionist staff did not say anything about when I was asking about the lateness. This may or may not have been the case but to rely on staff traveling from one branch to another in the middle of the day is obviously not working. On another occasion the phone was just ringing out during the lunch hour and just after - no answer machine to say it was lunchtime and when I called in and mentioned this the staff seemed to suggest I was wrong about the phones. I was also met with staff eating smelly takeaways at the counter with rubbish still not cleared away. A lack of professionalism that you don’t expect at an opticians. Steer clear!

I had very good experience at the opticians. The staff were very welcoming and caring.The optician, Vikram, took really good care and attention to detail for my new glasses. I have difficulty adapting to new prescription but this time it was no problem.It is always busy, but the service is excellent.Highly recommended.Thanks so much!

I had a recent appointment with MW Phillips Opticians which was carried out by a lovely gentleman called Vikram. He made me feel at ease (especially because I’ve always been anxious in going to the opticians). He carried out the eye test smoothly and explained the findings in a professional manner. Following this, I was able to pick out a lovely pair of Raybans which suited me nicely! They have a wide range of designer brands so it wouldn’t be hard to find a pair that suits you! Would definitely recommend MW Phillips Opticians.

Brilliant Opticians! Staff were so attentive from the moment I entered the store. I had a wonderful eye test from Vikram the optometrist who explained everything so thoroughly. The staff helped me choose the perfect pair of glasses. I couldn’t decide between 3 pairs but not once did they rush me. First time at an independent opticians and I will always use MW Phillips Opticians! Thank you once again.
