A relic, of a time gone by, when shopkeepers got to know their customers, and were polite, friendly and courteous. A time when certain shops were a hub of the community.Behind Bars really is a hub of the cycling community, especially now Outdoor Traders has sadly gone. We must use, or lose, our local bike shops. Online may be cheap, but dealing with the problems when we've ordered the wrong parts, or they won't fit, or we just need specialist tools - well we really just need our LBS.The team at Behind Bars are just lovely, it's more of an extended family than a business. Lee really does care, James and Paul are lovely guys. This shop really is a hidden gem. If you're just starting out in cycling, they'll hold your hand, and guide you on your way. If you're competing at a top level, they'll still support you.It's easy to write a negative review when things go wrong, but sadly, people all too often fail to write a positive review of a really good business, which is why I've done so in this case.I have no hesitation whatsoever in highly recommending Behind Bars to any, and everybody.

Very helpful staff. They were nice & considerate with my young daughter when we got her bike at this shop. Let her try the bike a few times around the car park first, no pressure to buy, just helpful and let us do things at our own pace.Good quality bike purchased at a fair price.A good local shop to support.

I took my bike here this week for a service. Just picked it up today and it's like new! Completely cleaned (spotless, even after 2 winter's worth of neglect!), everything adjusted and rides perfectly. Had a really good chat with James from the shop - A genuinely nice chap! I would definitely recommend!

Myself and my wife popped in for a helmet for her and to see if they could help fix a problem I had with a bike I bought online.They took the time to size up correctly the helmet for my wife whilst offering different styles and prices.They also fixed my bike’s problem which I had to leave with them for half an hour, and after which they didn’t even charge anything for the repair!The service itself was a perfect balance between friendly and professional and would throughly recommend this shop for any types of bikes and cyclists.You know you’ve visited a great shop when you come away feeling that your expectations have been well and truly exceeded.

I have recently had my Wilier road bike repaired by the team at Behind Bars Bikes. I would highly recommend this bike shop for multiple reasons. After a mechanical review of my bike, it was obvious that my Wilier needed a lot of work to get it riding well again. I appreciated the honest conversation on cost, supply time and options either repairing my Wilier Vs purchasing a new bike.James repaired my Wilier incredibly quickly. The bike required significant amount of work done and I can clearly see the time and effort that has gone into repairing my bike. Parts were not always easy to source but this had very little delay, as I had my bike back sooner than I expected.The communication from all the members of the team was wonderful, as I was kept up to date with each step of the way. Customer service was excellent with a warm welcome each time I stepped into the shop.Thank you all Behind Bars Bikes team.

I went in to behind bars recently to look at a new bike for my son, I was greeted by Lee who was very accommodating, experienced and helpful! From the very first moment, I was well looked after and felt at ease under the current circumstances. Lee then suggested I that I took my son down to the shop the next morning, he even offered to open 10 mins early to safely accommodate him, ensuring he was not going to come in to contact with anyone else! We went ahead and purchased the bike and are extremely happy we did! Thanks for all your help behind bars! Great experience would definitely recommend!

My bike was making noises so I went here asked them to fix it they said sure the next day I went back did a test ride it was completely fine went in and paid £25 cycle less than 5 minutes and started making noises again. I'm not happy I paid £25 for them to fix the completely wrong thing.

Superb friendly and efficient service. Ended up slashing my tyre sidewall 2 days in to 3 day cycle tour. Staff opened up early and had me back on the road in 10 minutes, ready to set off on time for final day. Couldn't ask for better service. Highly recommended.
