Absolutely fantastic funeral directors who have arranged 3 family funerals in the last couple years, including a “double”. They really go above and beyond in every way possible. Absolutely choose them if you can.

S. Carter & Son could not have made my Mother's funeral anymore special or personal. We had previously used the same company for my Father's funeral 12 years ago and had a similar experience. Lily conducted the initial meeting and achieved a perfect balance of empathy and professionalism. Any query we had was swiftly actioned and explained very well. She was also able to recommend a celebrant (Liz) who was completely amazing. The call we had with Liz was very reassuring and on the day it could not have been better. From S. Carter & Son, Darren lead on the day and made everything so incredibly smooth and respectful. Noboddy wants to have to arrange a funeral but for the sad times it happens, S. Carter & Son are without doubt the best choice in my (and my family's) opinion

I wanted to thank you all for your support and amazing service after my Dad passed away. I just want to express our thanks and gratitude to everyone at S. Carter & Son for making the difficult and sad occasion of our late Mother’s funeral as straight forward and supportive as possible.We had dealt with the same funeral directors for our Father’s funeral 25 years ago, so were our immediate choice for our Mother’s.We dealt with Lily, who was patient and supportive throughout. Nothing was too much trouble and she dealt with all of our many queries clearly and quickly. On the day of the funeral, S. Carter & Son dealt with all of our requests and the whole proceeding faultlessly and with great professionalism and dignity. It all helped make a very difficult process and day bearable, and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

S Carter & Son are a traditional firm of Funeral Directors based in Wickford. My family first used their services 38 years ago for my Grandad's funeral, thereafter for my Nan's funeral in 1994. Last year they dealt with the funeral arrangements for my late Mum. They are professional, compassionate and dealt with everything exactly as per our wishes. Thanks must also go to the stonemason department that dealt with the inscription on the headstone and installing the kerbstone on the grave at Wickford Cemetery.

I highly recommend this Company. They organised my mum's funeral perfectly. Debbie was very kind, helpful and knowledgeable, and nothing was too much trouble. Darren was very professional and patient, as were all the staff we dealt with. Arranging a funeral is so daunting and overwhelming yet after just one phone call I felt so much more at ease, you took care of everything so well. Thank you so much!

I can only leave a review from my perspective of on the day as I wasn’t involved in any planning.I was asked to help carry my grandads coffin. I was nervous as ive never carried a coffin before.I asked one of the gentleman what to do and he took us through it step by step.Straight away I felt confident and comfortable.It was truly an honour to have had them by our families side.And actually made me feel like I’d like to give something back to them.

Following the sad passing of my Mother, I was recommended to contact S.Carter & Son of Wickford, from the first call I was made to feel at ease as they explained the next steps I needed to take.On making the arrangements I was impressed by the kindness and understanding shown to me and my family.On the day of the funeral the bearers, drivers and cars were immaculate, and everything was carried out with professionalism and dignity.It truly made what was a sad occasion into a comforting tribute to my Mother.My heartfelt thanks go to all at S.
