Wow! what a find. Delicious soup and a cheese scone, one of the best I have ever eaten and I love cheese scones. Served warm with butter yes please. Suggestion- they would be even more amazing with garlic butter, random I know, but has to be tried. Victoria sandwich was as light as a feather with a generous filling. I need a reason to return to Ely to sample even more gorgeous food. Bonus points for our pot if tea being topped up with hot water.

What a friendly place - lovely staff and delicious food right in the heart of Ely. Get there early or you will have to wait for a table, which just shows how popular this place is. Thanks ladies. Hope to see you again soon.

Ok old fashioned friendly cafe. Delicious looking cakes but the breakfasts (scrambled eggs and an omelette)were uninspiring.

We had heard good things about Market Kitchen so we drove to Ely specifically to get lunch there. The staff was friendly enough, and we got our food really quickly, which was nice. We can't fault the bread but my goodness there was waaay too much mayonnaise in the egg mayo and cress sandwiches. You couldn't even taste the eggs. We ended up leaving over half the sandwich because it just wasn't very nice at all. We really wanted to have a nice lunch but sadly it fell short.

We were hungry and went to this place with my wife around 2 o'clock. We paid £20.20 for 2 paninis and 2 teas. They brought the tea immediately. They forgot the paninis in the machine and brought them overcooked 20 minutes later. The tea had already gone cold by then. I sent the panini back, and after a long wait, they brought it back cold again. I believe they brought me the same panini I returned. I had asked for mozzarella, but they put cheddar instead. I was very hungry, so I ate that bad and cold panini, but my wife couldn't. Later, we politely told them that we didn't like the panini and service but they didn't seem to care. This is the worst kitchen I've been to in all these years.

Went for a nice lunch on a rainy day. Good sized portions, even a decent side salad with the jacket potato. Grandkids enjoyed their meals too. Nice cake to finish it off.Staff were all lovely.

Today was our first visit here and it will not be our last. Lovely homemade food, great choice, and very friendly staff and atmosphere. We were made to feel very welcome, and nothing was too much trouble, even when they were rushed off their feet. Would highly recommend.

Maybe I just caught them on a bad day but I have to admit I didn't have a great experience of this place. I had limited time as I had to fit a school shoe shop and lunch for my daughter and myself within a short time. My daughter and I requested different items from the menu, to be told they had run out. No problem - we changed our choices - they'd run out of those too. This was at around midday. In the end my daughter went for a simple sandwich, and I went for a slice of quiche, just on its own, plus drinks and a slice of cake. The quiche was already on the counter, so all they had to do was make the sandwich. The drinks and a not-particularly-generous-sized broken slice of cake arrived after a few minutes. But 25 mins later we were still sitting waiting for our savoury items. The lady at the counter hadn't indicated there'd be a long wait. So after 25 mins, I asked a waitress, who then brought the sandwich and quiche over and wordlessly (and certainly no hint of apology) put them on our table. To be fair, they'd added crisps to my quiche, which was a nice touch (but a small side salad would have been nicer). The food was average - not particularly great but not particularly bad, just very basic. But around £22 for a very basic sandwich, a single smallish slice of quiche, a cup of tea and an orange juice and a broken slice of cake, and 25 mins wait time with no communication - sorry, but I wasn't impressed, and won't be eating here again.
