I was in a bit of a pickle, my Renault Scenic 1.8 was misbehaving as the throttle which is FBW (Fly By Wire) was misbehaving in the respect that it would rev up when changing gear with your foot off the throttle. I had found no faults with my Torque Pro phone App and Bluetooth connected reader. This guy Malcolm diagnosed a faulty TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) with an intermittent fault. You were able to talk to Malcolm and get sensible advice. I told Malcolm that a previous owner had shimmed the throttle opening position in the spring position unit by about 2 mm to hold the throttle position open probably to increase idle speed.The air intake had been half or more blocked off by a botched repair to the tube that is made of a felt material with a nylon wire support. This was constructed by wrapping and gluing the felt strip which was 25mm wide around a mandrel to form a tube. This tube was damaged by air filter replacement by a lazy mechanic just bending it instead of removing 2 screws to remove it completely. This resulted in the air intake being blocked by a strip of this felt going right across the airway.I removed these shims from the pedal position spring return unit on Malcolm's advice and the throttle then worked as normal. Malcolm's advice was spot on and things then worked as they should and it then threw up a TPS Sensor warning light that my Torque App could read.Problem solved. Great Guy, only £25 for the scan and around 40 minutes of his time. Could not have been more helpful, told that if I could come now this was 17:00 or just after when I phoned him, he would squeeze me in.You can't get any better service than that.

Excellent! I was really happy and relieved to find this garage, with such a brilliant mechanic as Malcome after moving recently to the Liskeard area. I have two classic Volvos and feel reassured they will be well looked after by him now.

After noticing an issue with my car's brakes I phoned Malcolm at MGR first thing in the morning earlier this week. Despite being busy, he offered to squeeze me in that same day and had ordered the required parts within the hour. He gave me a realistic idea of the costs (and phoned me to let me know that he'd actually found the parts for slightly cheaper than he'd originally quoted). We dropped the car in at 4pm and he stayed late to finish the job. I collected the car (complete with brand new back discs, pads and calipers) at 8.45pm that evening. All in all a great service and would recommend to anyone!

Replaced both discs, rear caliper and brake pads on my Mercedes. Great service and very experienced, I would highly recommend to locals and tourists. Very well priced as well
