We were visiting the area and got booked in for Sunday lunch. Lovely pub. Nice atmosphere, homely and comfortable. Friendly staff. The lunch was fabulous! Really good value and the quality of the food was excellent too. Good choice of puddings. Too many infact! The jam roly poly and custard was delicious! Wish this place was on our doorstep! Parking is a bit tricky but other than that, faultless.

Fabulous cosy pub with friendly helpful staff and first class food. We visited to celebrate a family birthday, they added our decorations to the table and brought out a cake at the end. The food was delicious, excellent quality and service was perfect. Would highly recommend The Stables to everyone x

Charming and cosy small pub and restaurant.Great pub grub style menu with plenty of homemade food available.We enjoyed the fish and chips and the black pudding very good quality.The service was a little slow with larger tables getting faster attention.We waited a long time to order more drinks and a dessert menu.We expected a wait for our mains but weren't put off by this as they were excellent.Good drink choices available.Can be busy even on weekdays due to the location and size of the establishment.Definitely will return.

Really enjoyed my visit to this place, friendly staff and good service. Variety of ales, beers and wines available. Good selection of food and well presented. Decor is lovely and traditional but did find that the tables were a bit close together, but I suppose that's one of the few draw backs of it being a popular choice. Definitely well worth a look if you get the chance.

Had a girls breakfast morning. Staff very helpful. Food was hot and well presented. Sadly my meal was spoilt by black cracked pepper over egg, tomato and mushroom. I should have sent it back. I was last to be served and did not want to cause a fuss. Having said that I would highly recommend, BUT ensure when you place your food order requested food not to be seasoned.

A very rare full 5 STAR review from me on this one, beautiful building with loads of character, super friendly staff and the food was spot on, I never usually order beef but the roast was beef and I thought I'd give it a go and I was not disappointed!!!Really looking forward to going back!

A wonderful rustic pub that never disappoints. The food is always sublime and brilliant value for money. The staff are always friendly and attentive regardless of how busy they are. The Sunday lunch is exceptional.

Lovely food. 4 had the hot pot Panini chicken and beef all lots of meat and excellent. 1 had the burger which was homemade and very tasty and I had the prawn Marie rose Panini. Lots of food and really fresh side salad. Am definitely coming back.

Loved it here! Did not get to try the food, but I heard the Sunday lunch is great. The building is fantastic and felt like I was in the Lake District! Staff were very nice, and the toilets were very quirky!
