This hostel would have been better had it not been for the inaccessibility for my friend who is a wheelchair user. We called ahead and specifically asked if they had accessible rooms. They said they did so we trusted it was accessible as also advertised on their website. Our room was in an isolated room on the basement level (Room 10, level 0), with bad lighting and it was cold. The room was 4 people, 2 bunks and very very small space for the wheelchair, which had to be confined to the corner and allowed for very minimal movement. We asked three times to upgrade to perhaps a more accessible room or a private room but were denied because they were completely booked out. No effort was made on behalf of the staff to accommodate this issue, no refund or price reduction were offered and apparently no concern shown. Only the Aussie bloke at reception was helpful and suggested that we come to reception at 7-8am to see if there were any cancellations. There were also steps everywhere in the common area so we had to ask people to lift up the wheelchair. The lift was not very efficient for the amount of foot traffic. My friend would wait upwards of 10 minutes just to get to the floor above. Also on the last day the accessible entrance door was broken from the inside.Other than that the food was really good and the shower / bathroom was very accessible. Also it was in a good location.Just wish they would be more transparent about their accessibility rather than claiming to be fully accessible.

We stayed in a private room with a shared bathroom.Pros: OK location, great breakfast options, comfortable beds, cute decorCons: Very crowded, moldy showers (and unclean bathrooms in general), EXTREMELY noisy (even in a private room you’ll hear the bar/neighbors)Takeaways: If you stay here, bring earplugs. There were many families here (which I was surprised about) because it is definitely a party hostel. On our last night, there was vomit everywhere in the hallway and it was not cleaned up by the morning. I enjoyed my trip but I would not stay here again…

Me and my friend James Taylor stayed here a few times over the years and recently since we have been back (working winter wonderland) we have seen such an improvement on the hospitality! The reception staff are phenomenal. There is a man called Charles and hes been so helpful and understanding of situations. Hes really made us happy to stay there, REALLY!

Location is very good! Other than that was a bad experience. The room was so cold!! Also very few space between the beds. It’s impossible to open your drawer when someone else is in the room. The showers don’t have any space to put your stuff! It’s basically just the space for the shower. I have read this online before in some reviews but never thought it was so small!! Then the water was not that hot which was very unpleasant because I arrived very late that night and I just wanted a hot shower! Plus the cold room after! I had to sleep with all the clothes that I had in my backpack! In the morning I complained about this and the employee at the reception said they would take care of it. I just stayed for one night.Plus a guy in my room snored all night! It was horrible!!Also there is no kitchen in this hostel, even not just a small one if you want to do some coffee or tea. I didn’t know that! There should be a small area available at least!I asked for a mug and a spoon and an employee went to get it.I basically walked the stairs always. There is a lot of people at the hostel and 6 floors and the elevator is so small!!Good location but definitely a lot of things to improve related with the space itself! Staff was nice!

So this is my third time visiting London, first time staying at a hostel. So..the staff here are young, cold, and unwelcoming. As SOON as you come in, no greeting, and no instructions. Did a self check in, got to my room only to realize you need to go back to reception and pay £4.50 for a towel….already off to a great start, but it gets better.Right outside my room window my first night, all you could hear is the staff on their “break” talking extremely loud past 1:00am!! In what world is that ok?! Sure it’s a “party” hostel, but the staff should know better. Yes, you’re working and you want to take a break and kick it with your co-workers, but at least have the decency to keep it at a low volume, or do it further away from dorm windows. There was no care or respect for the fact that people are trying to sleep and it’s after hours! (Please find another smoking area for staff, don’t have it so close to dorm windows where people sleep and don’t want second hand smoke flowing through the window)The cleanliness of the room was nasty, I don’t know if it was because I was the last one to arrive in the room and it had become very “lived in” but the floors were covered with dirt and hair.Overall, it’s a convenient option if you need to save money and don’t mind sacrificing your peace of mind. But I most definitely will not be recommending this hostel to anyone I care even the slightest bit about. It’s a no for me Generator London, sorry.

Nice place to stay and have new friends.Everyday restaurant vibes will be good to enjoy there.Nice choice who would like to save money and would like to stay in shared accommodation. For accommodation lockers take a lock with you, or you need to purchase it from reception. Or separate lockers are available on hourly rent basis as well.

Do not stay here. This was my 3rd time in London. I stayed at the generator because it’s walking distance to Euston station and I needed to get to Manchester early one morning. I stayed at the Generator in Miami and had a great experience there, so staying in the London Generator made sense for this trip.I was meant to stay for 3 nights but changed accomodation after 1 because of how bad this place is. I stayed in a 4 person room, which really should have only been for 2 people it was that small. We were in there like sardines and it was inevitable that we were in each others way. No one put their bags in the storage spaces in the room because they were so hard to access. There wasn’t enough room for me to even open up my bags and sort through anything, so I had to do it out in the hallway so that I could have some extra space. Also the walls are paper thin, the mattress is uncomfortable and the pillow offers 0 support. Please be very careful with this place, as for the shared 4 person room they don’t make it abundantly clear that there is no bathroom in the room. There was only one bathroom on my level, which was about 6 sets of doors away (very inconvenient at night), and that bathroom was locked from the outside while I was there, so I couldn’t use it anyway. This meant I had to go down to the main communal bathroom area, which is akin to a prison shower situation. Don’t drop the soap vibes. The bathroom was smelly, dirty, incomplete, and hard to maintain privacy. The showers were tiny too, you could hardly move around and soap yourself without bashing your elbows on the wall. This made it quite difficult to keep the curtain closed for privacy. The staff didn’t care much either about my complaints at the time and understanding that I wanted a better room. I went to Manchester the next day and booked a new accomodation on my way back. Also to store your bag for a day it’s £10 which is very steep compared to other hostels I’ve stayed at. The accomodation is very overpriced for what it is. I paid £45 per night and thoroughly regret it.Please don’t stay here

The entrance is very cool since it’s hidden in an alleyway. The place is cool easy check in and check out. People there are very cool although there’s a significant young crowd that like to go out in the bar downstairs where’s there’s usually a party. If you want to sleep early (before 3am) this is not the place for you. However if you want to sleep late and meet lots of people this might be the best hostel you’ve ever visited. Beds don’t have curtains. Great for a short stay.

This place is exactly what a hostel should be, a cool space for young people traveling to hang out. Check in was easy as you could do it yourself at a little self check in screen. The bar downstairs had some good food and drinks and was pretty lively and had good vibes. The bathrooms were clean and the mattresses in the rooms had bed covers. Would definitely stay her again if I find myself in London another time.
