Patina Bakery
We visited Patina on a Tuesday morning for my birthday. It is really easy to get to on the tram and doesn’t take long at all. There were lots of tables inside and outside but as it was a nice day we sat outside. We got an almond croissant and a pain au chocolat and an orange juice for breakfast. We also bought some focaccia sandwiches to takeaway for lunch later. We got the ham hock and pastrami.Everything we ate from Patina was delicious! I haven’t stopped raving about it since I went. It was so nice to head somewhere out of the city rather than going into town.Plus, the tables outside had lovely views of the Pentlands.Patina is definitely worth a visit in my book!

This bakery seems to have it all - a spacious and bright interior, friendly staff, and amazing pastries that are among the best in town. The interior design of the bakery is undoubtedly impressive, creating a welcoming and cozy atmosphere for customers. The staff is sweet and friendly, making you feel at home from the moment you step inside. The only drawback is that it can be challenging to reach Patina by a car - we ended up going round in circles for a while as the official directions involve private road blocked by barriers. Much easier to get there by tram.

This place is sublime. The food is all locally sourced and made on-site. The surrounding and the service is faultless. David in particular made our visit so special. Mum is in a wheelchair and he couldn’t have spent more time making her feel special. He also sold the restaurant and cocktails to us. We’re booking now! His effort to make us feel special should be bottled and shared. Thank you all. Others can learn from you. We’ll be back soon.

Good coffee, we tried the ginger loaf and carrot cake both very nice. Not much else left on menu, even pastries which was a little disappointing.Atmosphere is nice? Hazey glass was annoying but I reckon that expected when they have soo many windows all round which are nice to let sun in.

Lovely spot in a quiet area for a coffee and so many choices of pastry. I opted for mac & cheese Danish as I’ve never came across anything like it. It was delicious.

Visited yesterday with a valued colleague to do some work on the coffee equipment and was treated to a bone marrow burger , OMG !! This is past even next level in taste, quality and mmmmness !! Absolutely amazing !We were also treated to some sour dough bread and pastries at the end of service, also to die for !!I am seriously thinking of relocating to Edinburgh !!They also sell some very high quality crockery which they produce themselves at their own pottery. Quite pricey but wow, I don't think you would have to buy another crockery set ever again !!If you are in the area you have to visit Patina, it's the law !! Your tastebuds will thank you.

Excellent choice for a breakfast/brunch outside of the city centre. The food is good and carefully prepared. The prices are on the expensive side (given that you are not in the city) but the quality balances it. Polite service and ready to help you.Main issue for the place is the parking. If you use the tram, the place is straight out on the stop but with car despite it's in the middle of nowhere" you need to pay for parking as all the aread around is parking restricted."

Absolutely fantastic! We went already twice and it is def wort the short drive, you don’t even pay the parking if you stay less than 60 minutes. The bakery makes an amazing bread, especially the one with seeds, and the pastry are perfection. The vegan cinnamon and orange swirl is my favorite. We staid until around 10ish to try the sandwich, made with their own focaccia, and they are very very good. Presentation is also nice and clean, as the whole place. Absolutley recommended!

Lovely bakery and coffee shop near Edinburgh Park tram. Well worth a detour. Parking nearby too. We had delicious coffee and a selection of pastries. So good we bought sandwiches and more cakes to take away for lunch!
