St Cadfan's Church

The Church of St Cadfan in Llangadfan is a 15th century structure, much restored by the Victorians.Although the fabric of the current structure is mostly medieval, over-zealous Victorian restorers did their best to hide this. The west gallery was dismantled and the timbers became the chancel ceiling. The entire interior is covered in white plaster, with a featureless barrel ceiling hiding the 15th century roof timbers. Even the masonry of the outside was covered with unpleasant pebble dash render.The medieval character pokes through in some places, including the slightly wonky, 15th century Perpendicular Gothic east window and crude medieval stoup.Bilingual services at 11am on 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month. Minimal parking on the road outside.
