I was seen by a white male, bald slender and tall, probably in his 50s, wore glasses. His tone in his voice was rude from the minute he spoke to me. He even had the cheek and audacity to say to me “why did you come to a&e” bare in mind it was 4 am in the morning and there was only two people in the waiting room. He didn’t even give me the privacy of closing the door but the door was left wide open for practically everyone to hear (receptionist staff and waiting room patients). I went to a&e because I had shortness of breath, I could only breathe through my mouth, nose was blocked and I had other symptoms - not covid related. I was dismissed and sent home, no bloods or swabs done. Literally nothing done. Spent probably less than 5 minutes with him trying to berate and patronise me. He even gave me incorrect medical advice unknown to him I have medical knowledge and I’ve been working in the medical field for 9 years. I watched him lie and tell me incorrect medical advice, but I simply did not have the energy to correct him. Whoever he is whether he’s a hca, nurse etc does not deserve to be working at the forefront. When I went home, a few hours went by I fainted and a few hours went by I began coughing up blood. I’ve got my diagnosis now. But God forbid other patients see this man. He can definitely cost lives. If I really wanted to I can file a medical negligence case. But it’s not even worth it.

Went in on Tuesday 26 April after being referred by GP. GP thought it was enough of an emergency to write a letter to explain everything and asked me to go to A&E immediately. I do understand that there is wait and list of priorities as to who is seen first but the service was appalling. Despite having a letter and explaining everything 3 times (receptionist, nurse, and another triage nurse) I had to explain it yet again to the GP that saw me after 3 hours. Because of my injury I couldn't even sit, so was left standing and almost ended up fainting, despite asking if there's anyway I could lay down (was told there are chairs to sit so I should be fine). The GP couldn't resolve it of course (as the letter from the previous GP already explained! and I did as well) so he left me waiting again to speak to a surgeon. That was another hour of waiting. At this point it was midnight. Surgeon admitted me in and they did some blood test to prepare me for the emergency surgery. After the blood test I was waiting another 3 hours to hear anything. AT 3AM A NURSE CAME AND SAID I HAVE TO LEAVE AND THEY CANNOT TREAT ME! They told me I have to go now and go to another hospital the next day. After spending 7 hours standing in pain and unable to sit I was sent away without any treatment or explanation. They were unable to tell me why I have to go to another hospital. I wasn't offered transportation or any pain medicine. They completely agreed it is emergency because they issued another document for me to give in the 2nd hospital, yet refused to treat me. (Thankfully the 2nd hospital was kind and I got the emergency surgery quite quickly on 27th, I was also offered a bed to lay down in before the surgery while waiting, so I do recommend st Marys hospital because of that.) Now I have to go back to this bloody place for dressing change and already feel extremely stressful about it. That is not how I should feel considering I should be able to trust doctors with my health and life. Very traumatic experience.

Sadly worst service. Very slow. Long wait. No assurance from staff. Staff are not accommodating. They don’t seem to care for the patients. Just kept walking around trying to look busy but in reality there’s just 5 patients around. Terrible service. No sense of urgency at urgent care department.

Yeah, it was a long wait. But the quality of care I received was exceptional when finally able to speak to GP. And, given I wasn't in an emergency, I have no qualms with waiting a few hours so that folks who need care more than me could get it.

I had to visit Charring Cross hospital because I had issue with my GP. I've checked in with strong head pain, ear and throat pain and in general bones (jaw etc.). The nurse checked my blood pressure, and CHECKED MY THROAT WITH HER PHONE FLASH - in 0.02 sec she was convincd I don't have Quincy. Fair enough, I'm giving them 2 stars because they took my blood fairly quickly and mind you I only went there with a flu - am aware that I am not top priority patient. I've been waiting for over 6 HOURS already and I am not yet to be seen by any doctor. There are people with me who have been waiting for 9 HOURS. I understand some patients are of higher priority but dear me they do t even allow you to grab food because if you get called and you are not in they'll cross you off of the list" - isn't that fun!"
