Halfords Autocentre Penzance

Ordered new tyres online and booked a slot. Got several text and email reminders.Turned up and they were ready, left the car and an hour later got an email to say all 4 tyres had been done and the car was ready.Painless process and great service.

Garage were great - went in for a tyre change and had an impromptu air conditioning request which they dealt with and came back to find them topping up my screen wash and radiator water as well! Those little extras mean a lot. Staff were fab as well!

I've been to this garage twice now and will continue to go back. Every time booking has been easy, service has been clear and effective, and prices have been provided upfront and are very reasonable - both times much cheaper than garages I've previously gone to.In addition to this, customer service has been polite, efficient and respectful. As a woman, it can be difficult to find a place which doesn't assume my ignorance or speak condescendingly when explaining the work required but I've found that Halfords have been informative and courteous. I've also received updates on the work being done, including an estimation of when I'll be able to collect the car, how much it's likely to cost prior to doing the work, and a phonecall/email when it's ready to collect. There have been no attempts to find unnecessary faults or upsell and on my first visit I also received a report afterwards on potential upcoming issues to keep an eye on.Prices have been very fair and service has been incredibly efficient. Even when they've needed to order parts, the work has been completed either later on the same day or the very next day. I really appreciate this as it means you can take your car there without the worry of not getting it back for several days or weeks, although it's possible that could just depend on the work needed. When keeping the car until the next day, I was called and consulted first as it was still driveable and they were aware that I might've needed it in the meantime - I was happy to leave it with them but really appreciate this aspect of the service.My car has always been returned to me in good condition and it's a very hassle-free service. Can't fault it.

Booked my mini to have a new tyre and alignment online, which was very easy to do. I arrived early and the service was superb. All staff very friendly and very helpful.I received a phone call to say my car was ready as well as an email to say what work had been carried out and future things that will need addressing on the car (yes I know this is to get extra business), but due to an easy booking system (especially during lockdown), amazing staff and excellent service I will definitely be going again.The job was done in good time and they didn't force me into getting 'extras' like some places do.They also gave me some helpful advice.Highly recommended!!

I had my car booked in for an MOT, it turned out that I needed new brake pads and discs, although extremely busy at this present time, they managed to get it all done on the same day! Great service and fantastic communication from Sarah. Thank you.

Letter sent to Halfords customer service 21/2/23Hi Halfords,Please accept this as a complaint about your service online and your Penzance Garage store. I recently booked an MOT and in preparation for that tried to purchase 2 tyres for my van reg no WX18 ###. The tyres were Goodyear vector 4seasons at £78.99 each, I wanted two which showed available but they would not add to my basket. I then called your Penzance Garage store and spoke to your representative there and he told me that the online prices were not available through him, only the website and he told me to call Halfords customer service which I did and I was told by them that I could only buy these tyres through the store and they had access to the same prices! I was then transferred back to the Penzance store and I was greeted by the same representative who seemed extremely frustrated with me and my question, he told me again that I could only buy these tyres online and his prices were £20 each more. He told me to try again online the next day and I have and still cannot add these to my basket. In addition when I checked the exact same tyres from other retailers they are about £80 not £100 as the representative told me.What a rigmarole Halfords puts it's customers through! I have newly signed up for the motoring club and seriously thinking of cancelling this.If I don't hear back from you I will cancel my MOT and motoring club.Thank youIan Foster

Amazing service and extremely friendly staff.Had an issue with our exhaust while on holiday. The part was on back order from manufacture but these guys did an emergency repair to tide us over.Can't thank them enough.Thank you halfords penzance for all your help and friendly service.

Brilliant service from the Halfords team as always. Booked in with ease and completed on the day. Never have any problems when using Penzance Halfords and highly recommend them.

Shortlived experience, will never be going back. I popped in this afternoon to ask if it would be possible to bleed my brakes as I suspected there was air high up in the line that I was struggling to get out myself (using a kit bought from Halfords funnily enough). Before I even finished my question the grey-haired gent at the desk abruptly interrupted me to say “no we can’t do that”, I replied with “bleed brakes?” And was met again with a very patronising “no, not when you’ve been playing with them”.Now I appreciate this is probably an insurance thing - fair enough - but there was no need for this man to interrupt me and be so rude and condesending in the way he spoke to a potential customer. Ridiculous service.
