NO CHILDREN ALLOWED IN RESTAURANT -Not one to typically complain, but was just met with a very blunt (albeit apologetic) employee in a completely empty restaurant. When asked for a table for 4, was told she had to double check. Completely fine! When I specified I had children. She said they didn’t accept children at all. What? It’s bizzare for me to even hear that. Nowhere is this listed on the website before attempting to dine here. Abysmal lack of display of information. I don’t mind rules. But please make sure people know of them on your website at least.

DRUG USAGEDuring my time working at Airds hotel, I was overworked, and belittled into doing extra jobs, to save management needing to do. Management consuming cocaine whilst working, and taking bottles of prosecco and champagne home daily, which I was then asked if was my, by the certain member of management. I had issues with my pay, and have been refused to be paid for the hours I worked, as my written down hours timesheet was apparently lost. I have been in contact numerous times, as they had not paid me any holiday days, or tips, after doing 70+ hour weeks. All emails I have stored, and have been in touch with assistance. Management drinking out of guests bottle of red wine, and then serving, and also serving wine that was acknowledged as Corked, but told to serve anyway as they would not notice the difference. Left alone in building on 2nd shift so certain members could go to pub to drink, same as every night I worked there. Managment Members drunk, in the kitchen during early hours of morning. Will not mention names, due to slander. This is a route that I wanted to avoid, but with the way I have been shown no gratitude, after giving all the hard work and respect, shows a poorly run business, and adhering to no safety or licensing laws. The usage of Class A drugs is massive, both during and after work.My Pay was less than half of what was expected. And I have yet to hear back regarding my pay from accounts. I will follow up at a later date if gets resolved.

Very disappointed when I last went in May. Been staying there for 15 years or so. It’s lost any kind of service (place was dirty, establshed staff had gone, breakfasts have reduced significantly, long standing issue of septic tank overflow in the previously beautiful (now rather intended) garden not being addressed, cheap laminate has made it devoid of character, room wasn’t serviced). So sad to see it has lost its very special character. Even for destination dining, rather than a serviced luxury hotel, it’s not going to compete with so many others in Scotland. I’m returning to beautiful Port Appin in September and have made the once unthinkable decision to stay elsewhere rather than experience The Airds in such a sorry state compared to what it once was. Such a terrible shame.

A very last minute find thus due to having to stay in the area due to the weather.Firstly, the hotel is very welcoming, and the staff are top-notch.The lounge area is comfortable with plenty of seating, and given the weather open fires too which just add that homely feel to the place. Similarly, the dining room has plenty of room for guests to feel very 8.Bedrooms are nice with good quality beds, plenty of storage for your items, and a large bathroom. The only very slight letdown is that the wallpaper is beginning to peel in some places, and the ceiling has some wear marks, particularly above where the kettle is and in the bathroom - just wear and age really but putting this back to a high standard should be fairly easy and I'd recommend that course of zction.Overall, it is a smashing place with friendly staff at a reasonable cost - if this way, give it a try.

An absolute gem on the banks of Loch Linnhe! This luxury hotel is breathtaking from the moment you pull up whilst the friendly staff take care of your every need. Our room was spacious with a large bathroom offering stunning views of the loch. The fudge, shortbread and whisky waiting in the room was a lovely touch. We ate in the restaurant and the food was exquisite. As was the breakfast the next day! The surrounding area has some lovely walks so be sure to take a stroll! Highly recommend!

The hotel lost the reservation for our 2-night stay, which they found in a spam folder eventually, so they were wholly unprepared for our arrival. Luckily they at least didn’t turn us away. We were shown to a medium-sized room with a view of the parking lot and promised to be moved to the room we actually booked the next day.The next day, it was a huge hassle to repack our bags only to unpack them again one floor up. The hotel staff just didn’t seem to understand how disruptive this was (specifically for the price, nearly $700 for 2 nights!!!). We were “upgraded” to a MUCH smaller room with a great view… from the BATHROOM. The original room had a seating area, a wall of windows, and a desk. The “upgraded” room had only a tiny vanity with nowhere to sit but the bed. Moreover, one of the robes smelled like someone else’s perfume, there was a hair in the bathtub, and the water pressure in the shower was a weak little joke. The house is old, you can hear everyone walking up and down the stairs, and the noise from other guests in the halls lasted until 11pm.I was shocked the next day when we received the bill. The manager, Caty, comped one round of drinks from dinner the night before. That’s it. For the price we paid, this was 1-star experience and we recommend that someone looking for a bit of luxury on their nature vacation look elsewhere to enjoy good service combined with good accommodations.Needless to say, we won’t be back, and you shouldn’t go either.

Unfortunately water leaked throughout the night from the ceiling, this clearly had happened before as there were water stains from previous episodes. So after a night of 3 buckets and a soggy suitcase of clothes I decided to call it a day as they could not give me a room of equal standard. I was assured I was going to get a refund but 2 months later it has been denied. It is very short sighted on their part as I was planning another trip for a weeks stay, very dissappointed, speaks volumes about their ethos.

First negative Relais en Chateaux experience I’ve had.Room very disappointing, smelled of wet dog and was pretty basic / run down, for the price paid. What was worse was that it hadn’t been properly cleaned when we arrived. The carpet was absolutely filthy and there were black hairs everywhere. Also clearly had not been dusted. The dirtiest hotel room I’ve seen in hundreds of hotel stays. Credit to the duty manager who cleaned it thoroughly when we complained. The shower didn’t work properly - stopped every few seconds, see video.Dinner was very disappointing. We informed the staff in advance we’d be slightly late for dinner (caused by us having to leave our room while it was being re-cleaned). Nevertheless we felt a bit rushed through from the lounge by being told our amuses were getting cold. Most of the food was good but one dish was significantly over cooked, which was obvious just by looking at it, and simply should not have been served.Service was also mixed, we waited nearly an hour between our main and deserts. The staff seemed to have forgotten us. We had to ask for the dessert menu and then ask to order dessert.Dinner was simply not worthy of the price. What amounted to three courses plus canapés / amuses for £95 (cheese course was a supplement), the quality of food simply isn’t high enough to warrant this. Very few restaurants with a Michelin star are that that price point, and Airds House does not have a Michelin Star. They’re not even close to the required standard, despite apparently aspiring to move in that direction. On the plus side, some of the facilities are lovely - the lounges in particular were very cosy. The views also excellent.
