To be fair the staff here are excellent, and when served by any members of staff they were polite and down to earth. The problems are the hotel itself1. beds are like slabs not comfortable at all2. The bathtub itself was shocking in size3. Because the place is single manned upon arriving there is a sign with a number to call. No staff member there to greet you until Called for.4. you can hear everything and everyone both above and through the adjacent walls and halls in to other rooms which for a family was not nice to try and explain to a 9 year old what the Stange noises were.5. Do you need a telescope to view the TV from your bed and can only access one channel as the TV remote would not work at all tv size was severely lacking compared to other hotels we have been in.6. We ordered breakfast and only found out when we arrived at the hotel that breakfast was not a cooked breakfast. It was a breakfast in a box. The contents of this box were a small pack of cornflakes & milk, a flapjack, orange juice, and pain au chocolat. All in all the only thing that was a benefit to the hotel, where the staff members and how polite they were

Room was very clean. Staff very friendly. Very handy being next to a retail park, lots of shops and restaurants nearby. Location isn't too bad either only a few minutes away from town.

Terrible. Room smelled strongly of cleaning products on arrival. As the evening went on the smell of bleach subsided and we were left with the smell of sewage and bad drains.

Good place ,good bed, clean. Only negative is the bathroom fan stayed on the whole night, not good for sleeping.

It was a handy place to stay as we were looking around the area. The Snowy Owl is a great place to eat.

I need to be fair, this hotel is orientated to people driving past and moving on the next day. So in that sense it serves its purpose well.Though there is definitely a lack of any sort of personality or charm. Very neutral and uniform, zero attempts to make it a bit cosier. The biggest lack in regards to facilities - no cafe or restaurant. It is a bit far from the centre, so your choices will be limited in regards to where to eat.Luckily, there is a Snow Goose pub nearby which serves decent pub food and a great range of drinks.Thumbs up to the receptionist of the hotel, he was very helpful and friendly.

Stayed here for just 1 night which was enough for me. I arrived late evening after a 10 minute taxi ride from the station and was greeted by a really nice guy on the check Inn desk. Also to be fair the room was clean. The bed was comfortable so I did get a good night's sleep plus the shower had no shortage of water pressure. However I can't ignore the fact it was clear immediately on entering the room it had been neglected of any maintenance for quite some time. One of the lights didn't work, the carpet had quite a few stains on it, the hand rest on the chairs has cracks and one of the bath taps had a leak from the pipe at the back with a constant flow of water running into the plug hole. However the worst thing was the powerful odour in the room which even after leaving the window open and going to the nearby pub for a bit didn't seem to sort.I know Travelodge is only a 2* place but surely is a bit of maintenance for the upkeep of the place too much to ask?

Dates of stay 9th to 11th JuneWe arrived late on the Friday after a dramatic trip from Edinburgh including a burst tyre!. The lady on reception was just lovely, very courteous, and patient as we couldn't get the key card to work in door due to being stressed out.The room was spotless, couldn't fault the cleanliness. All staff that we came in contact with were kind and courteous.Location - it is a wee bit out of the town centre, had to get taxi's in and out in the evening but not expensive.Garden centre round the corner is perfect for breakfast, portions more than adequate and the staff were pleasant.
