Absolutely the best meal we have been served in some time. Make sure that you go hungry. From presentation, to portion to taste, full marks. Warm atmosphere, attentive staff. Accessible. Dining areas. Wonderful comfortable bar area around the fire. Highly recommended.Maria Hanson MBE

We visited near Christmas and the restaurant was full but service was very slow. Friendly though and it was pleasant not to feel rushed unlike some venues.

Short visit after cycling and seemed to have a really nice atmosphere. Decent selection of drinks and plenty of car parking and outdoor space. I can recommend.

Popped in today 60 miles into a bike ride to quench my thirst. When I ask for a Coke, I don't mind if it's regular or diet. When I ask for a Coke, I don't mind if it's in a glass bottle, plastic or can. However when I ask for a Coke and discover on returning home that the beverage I was sold is over 6 months out of date I do mind. Explains why it randomly appeared out from a room behind the bar and not from the chiller. Lesson learned. 5* for the bottle of Harrogate water though.

Food very nice, good old fashioned pub grub. I had chicken and mushroom pie with mash. The pie was a proper pie with really nice pastry and plenty of chicken inside.

Probably the best pub Sunday lunch we’ve ever had! Beautiful & abundant pork belly followed by a home made fruit crumble to die for! Great host & servers who made us & our dogs welcome as we warmed in the cosy setting by the log burner & twinkly lights.Note: Food served 12-4 on Sundays at this little haven.

One of the nicest pubs I've been to in a long time! Great food, drinks were ice cold and perfectly poured pints and the staff were so kind and welcoming!Italian Sunday was brilliant and the atmosphere was wonderful. Great hosts.
