This is a review of the very limited experience that we had with the bike shed. In a nutshell the idea is to make an appointment with Vince to assess your requirements and to find out about the different types of bike, motors, batteries and stuff that probably hasn't occurred to the first time electric biker. They'll then help you choose the ideal bike and let you test ride any of their stock bikes. Unfortunately, as is our usual habit, we waited until three or four days before our holiday in Cornwall before we visited them and this didn't allow the time necessary to make the informed choice and have the bike delivered. However this is a small, enthusiastic and helpful local business and deserves our support. Trish is informal,friendly and keen to be of assistance. Just give them enough time to allow them to do their stuff. I feel you won't be disappointed.

Highly recommend, excellent customer service, needed my bike repaired, had been informed if I take bike down it could take up to two weeks to fit it in but if there was any gaps they'd try and slot it in. Never did I expect a call later on in the same day saying its done. Trish who I spoke with was super friendly, I couldn't speak more highly of my experience.

What a lovely friendly team who helped me so much by fixing my electric tricycle. Despite hold-ups from the manufacturer on getting the right part, they persevered and kept me informed. Highly recommend them.

Friendly and polite service. Dropped my scooter off, and within an hour i received a text letting me know it was ready for collection. Scooter returned in perfect condition, would definitely recommend.

Friends and I on epic e-cycle circular from Consett via route 7 to Sunderland, route 1 to South Shields, route 72 and route 14 back to Consett. The Bike Shed charged our bikes for free whilst we had excellent lunch (5 min walk) at River View pub and friend bought padded shorts from Halfords (across road).I also got a part on my e-bike replaced following a wise recommendation from Electric Bike Shed.A delight to find such a friendly and helpful business - much appreciated.

N.B. This review is not on Wisper bikes. They have been very helpful in resolving the issues and I understand that they no longer have dealings with this trader.........Review:Good service regarding sales: Very polite and helpful. We bought two electric bikes including wisper bike for my wife who has been trying to get back into riding following an operation.A fitting (looked like a small screw) that attached the front brake cable inside the brake mechanism seemed to come undone after 11 months. I asked for warranty repair and also a quote for a year one service, hoping to get both sorted before collecting the bike back.The dealer disputed my wife's account that she had not damaged the it by crashing the bike and told my wife he would not fix it under warranty and that I could take the bike away and do what I liked with it.The outcome was brake was fixed free of charge as it should have been, but the dealer said he would not carry out any general repairs or service then or in the future.As e-bikes were an investment (costing thousands) for us we originally chose a local dealer with the promise of service and repairs availability. This was the main attraction of buying there.Our confidence was misplaced and this is a cautionary tale. I won't be returning with my bike either now and I don't know how we will keep them going (maintenance is important with e-bikes owing to their speed and weight and added complexity). However we could have saved money buying online without local dealer support.I find the dealer's refusal to offer ongoing services petty and unprofessional. He took my assertion that it ought to have be repaired free of charge under the two year warranty personally, an assertion reinforced by his refusal to believe us (I was with my wife when the brake failed).Few would quibble over making a minor repair or adjustment after having made two significant sales on the first place - he was after all happy to take our money with the promise of maintenance and support when he sold the bikes.Wisper bikes have no other dealers in our region. With hindsight it would have been better to purchase from a larger company in the first instance owing to the idiosyncratic issues involving e-bikes and their maintenance. I'm more used to normal bikes and the culture of helping fellow cyclists out and most bike shops will do anything to help, but many of these don't work on e-bikes as they aren't set up for them.I considered giving two stars because we received help in deciding to buy, but decided only one was justified as it's easy to be polite and helpful when selling two expensive items. More stars would have been gained for providing the promised technical support and for constructive help in sorting things out when they went wrong.
