JYSK Bolton

The only good thing jysk have to offer are the affordable prices for things. However, the hassle and trouble in exchange is not worth it. They sent out a broken wardrobe just before Christmas 2021. We complained immediately. No one got back to us. We rang again being reassured by their staff that they will sort it. No one then got back to us. Again, we rang this time slightly more agitated. They stated multiple times that someone will call us back- no one did! Finally when we were able to sort out a return of the wardrobe at the end of this January, where said they would issue the refund automatically- they didn’t give us our refund! The call doesn’t go through to the store and you’re literally waiting longer than a doctor’s appointment call just to be answered. Not to mention some of the rude staff who cut you off and decide themselves to give the Bolton store “a chance”. How many chances do you need? Fast forward to February now, still haven’t received our refund and we tried lodging a formal complaint for which the staff just said “okay I’ll do that for you but I cannot tell you what I’m writing in the complaint”. What kind of complaint are they writing if we the complainants don’t even know the contents of it?Moral is don’t even bother buying from here unless you’re buying a non faulty item you never plan on returning because they will not help you at all and your money is going to go to absolute waste.It consists of careless staff and a tacky system and this was our first and last time we were ever going to shop from here.

New look store is fabulous- a great shopping experience. The staff are always available and very helpful.

Drove a considerable distance for several items including a mattress, some pillows and a duvet. Website said these items were in stock. On arrival i was directed upstairs for mattresses, the one I wanted was not on display in the correct area, someone kindly went and got one and left it at the till for me but I was hanging about waiting for this. However later I saw a selection of mattresses incl the one I wanted available downstairs so I was wrongly informed. I looked and looked for the pillows I wanted, I asked at checkout and mentioned it said they were in stock online…lady at checkout shrugged and said they must still be on the pallet after delivery…I asked is that it then can I not get one today, or could someone get a couple out for me…she shrugged and said no…I was a bit speechless that she didn’t even offer to ask…I then couldn’t be bothered to ask about the picture ledges I wanted as they were not on display either. Seemed too busy bellowing to a colleague down the store about needing a walkie talkie to be bothered about customers. Place was crawling with staff following the refit, it felt like customers were in the way TBH. I was squeezing past them and apologising for ….shopping in a shop during opening hours!! The place was disorganised and shelves were empty in places and stock reportedly in the stock room waiting to be put out.No wonder the high street is in decline when customers feel unwelcome in stores like this. I like JYSK but it’s annoying that this happened as I left without 4or 5 items that the website said were available and was given short shrift in store by staff. Won’t be returning to the Bolton store. Will use Blackburn instead.

I've always thought that JYSK was a cheap shop full of 'tat', but I have to hold my hands up and declare that I was wrong. I appreciate that they do sell some budget" lines which are lacking in quality

Wide selection of furniture and household goods, worth a visit.Presentation could be improved, as an example we were looking for a new office chair - looking at £200 plus high end, all the show chairs were damaged or wobbled on the centre spindle.This made it impossible to know if their was a quality issue across all stock or simply poor fitting when built in store.
