Willy’s Guitar Shop

Went in and browsed guitars, staff were super happy to let me try guitars and they were super friendly . I'll be returning for sure to get my next guitar. Or just for a friendly chat and to play some more

I agreed to pay up to £75 to have an Ibanez cleaned and serviced. I specifically said, call me to discuss anything you find that might cost more. A few days later they called to say the guitar is ready and the bill is £95. The shop told me it needed extra work but played perfectly now.£95 later, I got the guitar home and plugged it into my amp, only to find the volume control crackles and fades in and out.Suffice it to say, i will never set foot in Willy's again, nor would I recommend them. Very poor.Regarding your reply:I didn't qibble over the £20 in store, as despite you not keeping to our simple agreement on the agreed price, you told me that it was now clean and working perfectly. The guitar indeed looked very nice.As for returning the guitar to you. No. If you tell me it is all sorted when it is no such thing, I refer you to my earlier comments.I'll take the guitar to Amp Tech in Wootton, as while further to travel, at least their work is top notch.

I have have made two visits to Willy's Guitar Shop in recent weeks, first visit was to drop off a guitar for repair and the second visit to collect. I have to say that both visits have been extremely pleasant. My son Morgan has Autism and is roughly 18 months into his guitar journey which is having a positive impact on him and the people around him. Roland the gentleman at the shop was very accommodating to my son and showed patience, understanding and gave encouragement. My son was really pleased with the guitar after it was collected was was overjoyed with the new strings and the fact his guitar had been cleaned and looked real nice.On the second visit my son was allowed to sit in the shop and play one of the Bass Guitars and Roland fetched a guitar and played along with him, which was a nice touch. My wife and I along with our son left the shop extremely happy. We will be going back again.With that said I would Just like to draw attention to a negative review left by Dave Murphy just over a year ago who says that he went to the shop with an Autistic child but did not enter due to the sign on the door which read no mask on your face

Edited:Following a disappointing trip on Friday, only to find the shop closed (the hours have now been amended by the owner on Google maps, thank you), we have since returned and acquired our guitar. Thank you for your advice and assistance, our daughter is thrilled. The lady who served us was very helpful, friendly & kind.

A great shop for musicians and artists alike, filled with everything you need, l have brought several items from the shop, and iam now having lessons, Roland the property owner is a great person to help you with whatever you need. A pleasure to visit, a great shop.

Outstanding service- thank you - recently serviced Yamaha 6 string which now plays so much better.

These guys did a fantastic job setting up my Strat. There's also some absolutely gorgeous guitars in stock. All round great vibes.

Had a friend and her (autistic)son staying over on the Island with me recently,we went to buy him a guitar & wanted something cheap and cheerful,he enjoys playing drums and guitar at the day center he attends, he is mask exempt and struggles in social situations, we were met with a sign on the door that said no mask on your face you big disgrace" didn't bother going in & ordered off Amazon
