Rowlands Pharmacy Highland Road

A horrendous visit to what is my local pharmacy, because of one staff member.I have an ear infection; and due to it being a weekend, I used my private medical to get an online appointment and a prescription. This prescription was sent to the pharmacy with time before they closed and as their closing time is 12, I made sure to be there for 11:30 so that it wasn’t right as they shut the doors. On reaching the till, Mandy, was obnoxious and rude about my prescription, ensuring to remind me that they “closed at 12”, before tutting and walking behind the counter. I, as well as the other customers in the pharmacy, then heard her very clearly that my prescription was a “pain, long and at this time.” Really great service from the end location of well-being.I would love to say that this is a one off experience, but the same staff member has been rude, disrespectful and shown a real lack of care on multiple uses of Rowlands Pharmacy. This is a massive shame, as the pharmacist I retrieved my medication from was polite and helpful.Be warned that you may be able to get your prescription from this pharmacy, but don’t expect to receive care or customer service from them.

I, along with my family have been patients of this pharmacy for the many years we have lived in Southsea. The pharmacist is very much a credit to her profession as well as being a caring and kind person. All other team/staff members have also demonstrated excellent customer service, discretion when needed and empathy for whatever need/reason we have had to visit.

I don’t think this Pharmacy provides a safe environment for clients. I’m immuno-suppressed and was amazed and upset to discover that members of staff were working here whilst suffering from Covid. This may be ‘technically’ legal, but it is certainly unsafe. It shows a complete disregard for people in my condition, for whom any infection could have critical consequences. I was very shaken by my experience this morning.

This is the most amazing chemist Jackie and Nikki are wonderful so kind an helpful as are all the staff I look forward to seeing them it’s like a breath of fresh air they are also very efficient just love them Thankyou

The staff are very welcoming, service is fantastic. THE staff go the extra mile to help you and give good advice. Prescriptions are always on time. Never a dull moment, always make me smile.

This Chemist is unbelievable, the staff are so helpful and nothing is too much trouble for them. My perscriptions are always ready on time if not before, i think you are the best x

Lovely staff who really show a personal touch. I pick up a monthly prescription, and there was a manufacturer's issue with one item last year. I expected to have to go back to my GP and organise a replacement, but the pharmacist did everything for me. I walked past one of the team outside of the pharmacy this week, and she greeted me by name. Wow! They'd get 6 stars from me if that was possible!

I only use this pharmacy as it is closest but have always found the staff (with the exception of one) to be indifferent and often rude. Yesterday on entering one of the staff was walking around the shop tutting and liberally spraying air freshener as a poor customer had had the audacity to not smell as fresh as she would have liked. Many of the customers of a pharmacy will be suffering from physical and mental health conditions and should receive empathy and care not air freshener. Also many customers will have severe respiratory conditions or allergies and air freshener could cause them huge problems, it made me cough and I have no respiratory issues. The staff need some training before they cause someone harm.
