Acorn Guesthouse

We booked this place on the quality of the reviews ,what a mistake ! We did not stay but left immediately.The place is up for sale and the room we had ( 7 ) was awful , it is very dated and in need of decoration ,maintenance and new furniture. The dining kitchen is being worked on ,windows boarded up ,some unit fronts off ,tools and materials lying about ,a work in progress the host said ! ,three breakfast tables were made up in there !Had we known all this we would never have booked . The 1 star is for the balcony overlooking the garden which sadly we never got to use .We left very angry , dismayed and in disbelief at the reviews that encouraged us to choose the place .Steve and Selina

What a fabulous hidden gem, proper Yorkshire hospitality , excellent breakfast with butchers sausages and bacon cooked to perfection.Lovely lady owner who put us in a very large room with a very comfortable bed and some beautiful pieces of furniture. The bathroom is so nice, huge walk in shower , there's a fridge, microwave and TV in the room also. Parking is provided too . We will be back :)

Good breakfast with lots of choice. Comfortable bedrooms. Really good shower. Warm, friendly welcome on arrival. Plenty of parking to front of property. Excellent location. Regular bus service to city. Wi fi available.

Lovely house, Janet is a really warm and considerate host, the rooms are immaculate and breakfast excellent. Its homely rather than shiny, but beautifully clean and well ordered.

Very nice, clean rooms with a lovely breakfast. The owner was very friendly and accommodating, and went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable during our stay.

Fantastic, friendly bed and breakfast. Spacious, clean, well equipped rooms. Delicious breakfast and a lovely hostess. Great central location for Hull and surrounding areas.

Clean and comfortable. I had balcony room with views over huge garden.

I stayed at the Acorn Guest House as I had some training at HOTA, the guest house was literally a 2 minute drive from the training centre which was ideal. The room was reasonably priced a good size, comfortable and clean with ample off street parking. I didnt have breakfast as I was leaving early, I was told to help my self to juice and bread from the kitchen.I would reccomend this as a place to stay .

Nice landlady. Spacious room with large ensuite. Micro wave, kettle, tea/ coffee in room, fridge aswell. Lovely large back garden which is accessible. Car parking at front .Only downside were the beds - very hard and for us very uncomfortable. Pillows also very hard.

We slept like Babes in beautiful room 6 after the Hot Choc, had lovely shower followed by Breakfast, all that you would expect, whilst looking out at the lovely large Garden. Felt very comfortable, Thank you Janet
