Devorgilla Bridge
Lovely little Bridge and Museum. Also grest for Kids because there is a puzzle to be solved during the visit to win a small prize. Very kind lady told us everything about the former use of the bridge. Definatly worth a visit. Free entrance

Great views of the river, a council funded (so free to enter) museum in the oldest domestic house in Dumfries - and the bridge itself is great to look at.

Walking along this side of the river, Dock Park, Dumfries, everything is lovely and the views and scenery are quite spectacular. However go over the bridge into Dumfries town center and everything changes? Dumfries High Street and the surrounding shopping areas have dramatically gone downhill with large empty closed and dilapidated buildings, far too many for my liking to the point where I cant see this town recovering. This is not caused by the coronavirus or lock-down, Dumfries as a town and town center have been in steady decline for many years now and the local council really needs to look at whats happening here, maybe reconsider opening up the pedestrian areas in the town so buses and taxis can get back into the center, then maybe just maybe businesses will want to return and Dumfries will be the market town it once was?

It's just a bridge so anyone expecting an amazing experience probably shouldn't visit the place. That being said it does produce some nice photos and a pretty view of the river

Beautiful foot bridge, with great views over the Nith. Starting from here, you can make a circular walk of about 3 miles following the Nith down stream on the west Bank as far as the Troqueer foot bridge, possibly then visiting Castledykes Park, before returning on the east bank through Dock Park and onto the Whitesands.

Free entry to a house that was built in the1600s. The bridge is the oldest of its kind.

It's a nice bridge. It helps alot if you want to get across the river without the need of swimming or getting wet in any way. Perfect 5 stars (5.5 stars if you can't swim)
