Absolute disgrace sat there for 3 hours waiting whilst continuingly getting told it's being plated up and will be with us in 20 mins being lied to by 2 different shifts of staff horrible restaurants I wouldn't even call it a restaurant a, then requested a full refund with the meals still and we were told the meals aren't even being made after 3 hours !! Horrible and disgusting never visit this place

A friendly pub, with a selection of homemade dishes, on this occasion we ordered a stake & ale pie and hunters chicken, which we would recommend, the portions are reasonable and the price does not brake the budget, over all a great place to visit after exploring the area

Great service! Great food and massive portions of food at that! Will be back. Good atmosphere and nice they play music as well as the big screens as well.

Tonight. I'm sorry I can't give more negative stars. Appallingly abysmal I had booked a table about 3 weeks in advance as we were meeting and staying in the village with family from across the globe for a post COVID get together. I had confirmed the booking and numbers(11) 2 days before. The table was booked for 7 o' clock. On arrival 6.50pm, we were told they were running late but we were to be seated in the conservatory. At 7.30 we were seated in a small television room containing the disabled toilet. After waiting another half hour we discovered we had to order food at the bar. We were given a free round of drinks at this point but by 8.45 when I asked the manager/ landlord to chase the kitchen before it closed that really didn't hack it anymore!! He was having a lovely night at the bar with his friends. The food finally arrived at 9pm!!! This is a local pub for local people and any one else can just go swing. Don't even ask me about the meal, it's irrelevant!

Spent a lovely family day at the George for Easter. The staff were very friendly & very keen to help. The food was amazing & well presented. It was busy but the food came in good time & was enjoyed by us all. A wonderful day & really happy with the great food & service we received. Lovely staff & good quality food. Highly Recommended to all.

My Son and I stopped off here for a Sunday lunch. Expecting it to be busy, but wasn't. The service was prompt from the friendly staff. The roast was lovely nice and hot and tasty too..our only grumble being we should have gone for a small roast. Thank you. Recommended

Went here for dinner on a Monday night as neither of us wanted to cook after a long day at work. The girl behind the bar was super friendly and helpful. The food was really good, I had the pie which was really tasty and full. My husband had the chicken burger on the special board and said it was really good.We will be back as this is our most local pub and we want to give quiz night ago

I was really looking forward to dining here after reading the reviews but after our experience I would never recommend eating here. We arrived at 1720 and ordered two toad in the holes for a steep price when the kitchen opened at 1730. Our food arrived around 1800, which felt a long time, and tasted as though it had all been cooked from frozen. The food really was poor and seemingly had been waiting on a hot plate for a long time, the sausages were like rubber (so much so the first bite was spat out by my company!) and the gravy was cold. I couldn’t understand the poor quality given that the kitchen had only just opened..? The drinks at the bar were quite cheap so I can imagine this is an ok place to go for a pint after work but I won’t be returning unfortunately. I did consider complaining as I would’ve liked a refund given but the pub didn’t have a very welcoming feel and I was worried about how it would be received by the one member of staff chatting with regulars seated by the bar. Very disappointed.
