Kept taking my money but door wouldn't open! Luckily, a cleaner/maintainer had just been in/around and saw my struggle. He opened the door for me. Unfortunately, there was no wash water or paper towels, which I discovered after having used the toilet. Is this really the best that can be done here??

It doesn't work well. First time when I inserted coin, the coins came back. Second time when I inserted coin, it neither came out nor the door opened. It was a bad experience. Better to go to public toilet on the TyneMouth metro station.
