The Jill Stew School of Dance

My daughter thoroughly enjoys her Saturday morning ballet class and she has come on leaps and bounds since starting in the baby ballet class 2 years ago. The staff are professional and very friendly and I would highly recommend the school.

I attend Jill Stew School of Dance as an adult and one daughter attends twice a week for ballet. We both really enjoy our classes and as a former teacher myself, I greatly appreciate the professionalism of the school around safety, safeguarding and communication to parents. They deliver high quality dance lessons and the students achieve great results. I love the adult classes an a Monday evening and have been coming for 7 years!Each year there's an annual prizegiving event and summer school, there's been performances, Christmas shows, workshops with professional dancers and a chance to compete in dance festivals. The school is innovative and offers baby ballet to tiny tots all the way up to adult ballet, tap and Silver Swans classes.There's something special about the discipline and commitment in attending classes at a dance school with Jill Stew's reputation which sets kids up with useful skills for life, and they are lovely people :)

The teachers at Jill Stew School of Dance offer such a high standard of training. My daughter has improved her ballet enormously and is so happy at the school where she also has singing and acting lessons. The workshops with professional artists are a great bonus too. Highly recommend.

This is a very professional and friendly dance school. The school also has its own studios in a lovely building that specially designed for all their classes. Both my daughters have started going to ballet class from the baby ballet. I would highly recommend this school!

The Jill Stew School of Dance is an outstanding dance school! With dedicated premises incorporating two studios, experienced and professionally trained teachers, and a wide range of classes, it supports dancers to achieve the very highest of levels. Well known as being a specialist ballet school, there are also many other dance styles - modern, tap, jazz, musical theatre, lyrical, stretch, and also street/commercial classes too. There are 'baby' classes through to seniors, with adult classes too. They also have a higher than average number of boys who take classes through to senior levels as well. Outside of Covid times, there have also been excellent productions, the annual reviews and awards events, and also participation in regional/national competitions - of which their students have been consistent winners. If you are looking for a dance school that incorporates variety and fun with teaching of the highest standards, then this is the one for you!
