I have been with David Spicer for many years now and when I was given the chance to review them I jumped at it. David Spicer are phenomenal. They’re attentive, kind and, most importantly, really care about the customer’s needs, queries and preferences. Customer service, optical expertise and a lovely environment to shop and go for regular eye checks / tests - I assure you they have it all. Huge shout out to Neil who has personally looked into getting me the exact glasses I wanted many times over and who went the extra mile in finding and giving me (for free) a replacement piece, saving me hundreds of pounds. I would wholeheartedly recommend David Spicer to anyone who’s looking for a friendly, dedicated, passionate and specialist opticians!

I just had my first visit to David Spicer having moved to the area recently. I went there to have an eye test prompted by having something unusual happening with my vision. I was seen by Amir.A. Chughtai who was fantastic and very knowledgeable - he took the time and care to discuss and thoroughly investigate the problem I was having and then do a referral for me for more in depth investigation.

A massive thank you to the staff and in particular Neil Datta who patiently assisted to fix both of my Barton Perreria and Tom Ford sunglasses especially when they went I be out of shape. The knowledge this man shown and care was class. Really appreciate his time. Highly recommend this opticians. Thank you again.

This was my second appointment for an eye test. Very similar to my first one about a year ago, I received a great service again! The staff was very friendly and forthcoming. Everything was well explained during my thorough eye examination. I have been given great advice to decide on the correct specification for my glasses, suitable to my needs. I also like that booking an appointment is so easy via their website.All in all, a great experience!

Superb service. All the staff place you at total ease and provide you with great confidence.I had an eye test and new prescription glasses.Time was taken to ensure I understood what was being said about the eyes condition and then tactful advice on choosing new frames for the lenses I fell very happy using David Spicer Opticians.

I would like to commend the brilliant service I received during a routine eye test Cindy noticed a tear I didn’t realise I had on my retina, she referred me to the eye hospital where it was repaired by laser treatment the very next day. The consultant was very impressed that she flagged this up as not an easy one to spot. I am grateful to her and the whole team at David Spicers.

I have been going to Spicer Opticians for a couple of years now and the service is exceptional. They truly care! I have also purchased both glasses and sunglasses from them and always been complimented on them. So I always appreciate their help and expertise in choosing frames that suit me.

I live on the other side of Oxford, but I cross town to come to this optician. They're worth a trip! Amir did a very good job on the eye test. Neil has a fantastic talent for helping find the right frames. He listens carefully, but also gives gentle and helpful suggestions. My partner and I both ended up with frames which we really love, and which get lots of compliments. David helped with the fine tuning, and was incredibly patient and generous with his time. Meanwhile, Cindy has done a great job for me on my contact lenses.

Great communication and customer service;Neil and his team went above and beyond in helping me source and fit a replacement frame. The shop is easy to find and very accessible. There is also a wide range of frames available in the shop for all ages and styles. Overall great experience, thank you!

This is the best opticians I've ever been to — having been to many over the last 30 years. With a complicated longstanding eye problem, and having been to many different opticians in the UK (and eye exam ophthalmologists while living abroad) to try and solve this, this service was well beyond anything experienced before. And they had the patience and expertise to finally fix the problem.The technology is top notch, and David and Cindy, the opticians, spent much longer than a normal appointment to examine and deduce the problem. They also say that if anything persisted in the weeks following, they have me back, at no charge, to give me a second exam and consultation to confirm and make any necessary tweaks. Any lens change would be made at no cost within 30 days. The fitting team are also professional, friendly, highly trained, and with years of experience.There are also some lovely frames on offer — including sun glasses — at a wide range of prices. In short, don't go anywhere else. It is a wonderful independent opticians that Oxford is lucky to have.Thank you so much, David Spicers.
