The best experience at this hotel was the parrot, always happy!!!

A great location in Portland for water activities. The hotel has had a nice refurbishment recently. Rooms are nice, clean, and comfortable. The breakfast is really nice as a buffet style. Fantastic value for money.

I stayed for work in the port. I had a super early start and the location is ideal for this.The Aqua far exceeded my expectations. I’ve been using the aqua for breakfast while working for years.The room and bathroom was absolutely spotless. I mean I have never seen a hotel bathroom as clean as that one.I saw a spectacular sunset from just outside the hotel on a hot summer’s evening.The staff and pet parrot Polly were friendly and the room was comfortable.What more could I ask for?

Very nice, clean, recently renovated, comfortable budget hotel. Very good service. Superb location for exploring Portland and Weymouth. Great history around - from Henry VIII , WW2 till 2012 London Summer Olympics.

Still a work on progress when we stayed in May 22 but communal areas are very nice. The breakfast was good for meat eaters in fact my husband said it was great the option of veggie sausages would have got the same from me. The room was a bit basic but very comfortable. No dressing table or mirror and a very small tv. Really hot potential I'd definitely stay here again.

Highly recommend.Pubs and restaurants nearby.Breakfast was sufficient.Friendly staff.Clean.

Good hotel for a short stay - two adults two children. Clean room was up a flight of stairs. Four single begs however was able to merge two together for my kids. Bathroom with shower only. No fridge. Breakfast buffet included met standards and host was very kind to provide gluten free bread.

Excellent place to stay, very friendly staff. Reason for 3 star rating, staff shortage (no one's fault) but this impacted on services such as evening meals. One minute they are not doing them, the next they are. However, those who had purchased food from outside were able to sit and enjoy their meals in the dining room. Would improve with a signage system to inform residents of what is going on. Bar was open Friday/ Saturday night. Excellent evening and atmosphere.

The Aqua. YOU ASKED SO a quick ramble telling my experience as a paying guest.I am going to try to be to the point about my very short stay. We checked in late on Tuesday 13th June 2023 for one night (Two fishermen sharing a room for the night) wanting to be up and back on the boat as soon as we had breakfast.Room 201, not the best location,  is up two long and steep flights of stairs. This is a three single bed room, and very little space to get into the room past the third bed and the shower room, however it was bright  and clean, and the views are great from this room.Bad points. The curtains are far too small for the windows so I was awake at 4:45am we did want to be up early, BUT NOT THAT EARLY.Once in the room, the door slams dangerously hard behind you being closed by the hydraulic door closer,  this can be ajusted easily, VERY DANGEROUS FOR CHILDREN(100% top marks, breakfast was ready to go at 7.00am sharp and it was good. BACK BACON (WELL COOKED  FAT COOKED GOLDEN),( HASH BROWNS  CRISP ) I COULD NOT FIND ANY FRIED  EGGS, BUY THE SCRAMBLED EGG WAS THE  BEST I HAVE HAD FROM A BUGET HOTEL.SMALL POINTS. CUPS COULD BE NEXT TO COFFEE, NOT ACROSS ROOM.THE COMMERCIAL FOUR SLICE MANUAL TOASTER IS A BIT HIT OR MISS, I would suggest 2x cheap two slice domestic toasters, allowing more than one person to cook toast at one time.

I stayed here after a 24hr over night run race. So I was happy to get in and rest!I had an excellent experience at the Aqua.The room was simply designed and spotlessly clean.The manager was also very accommodating. I had finished the race earlier than expected and he made my room available rather than waiting around.The breakfast that was included was great. I was expecting a simple continental/cereal affair but was pleasantly surprised by a warm Full English buffet.Couldn't recommend Hotel Aqua more. Good price and value for money.The parrot in the reception area was a lovely surprise too!
