St Julian’s Park
St Julian’s woods are a great place to hang out and lose yourself from the craziness of life! Even though they are surrounded by major roads and housing estates, once you get into the middle of the woods all you can hear is birdsong. It’s is designated a nature reserve but you won’t find anything unusual here except the usual local flora and fauna. The woods are located on a steep embankment that eventually leads down to caerleon road so I wouldn’t recommend it unless you are fairly fit.

A beautiful area of nature not too far from the city centre. My kids loved exploring the woods, streams, and clearings, taking in the views, and spotting rabbits and listening to the birds. On a muggy summer's day, it felt a little like a walk in a rainforest at times, though traffic noise from nearby roads did break the immersion a little. The paths are rough, and fairly steep even in dry weather, and look like they would be very muddy in the wet. I wouldn't bring a pushchair if I came again!

Car park has amazing views, however had no idea how to walk through the woods safely. There was no pathway?!Would love to try to find the things others have posted photos of on here, if someone could oblige please? Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

Great safe place for the dog to run and fetch a ball. Lovely views and easy access with a dedicated car park. There is also a nice walk through the woods.

Known locally as Purnells Farm, this offers lovely views and lots of pathways through the woods. It is a hill but quite manageable.

Good place for the dogs, or to bury someone.
